I guess he means for 2D fighters, but even then i found it weird he was talking like juggles happen any differently. Launcher, filler, ender, thats pretty much all fighters. the biggest difference is that in Tekken you're expected to extend it with specific tailspin moves.

God i just can't get into this game... I only do basic punches and kicks and blocks and hope for the best. Even in story mode on standard difficulty i'm having such a pain and it feels so cheap to me.
@skillustrates7 жыл бұрын
Saftcore H Slow it down. Let the CPU attack, and block them. Then counter or respond to their attack with your own. By doing this you'll gradually get a feel for when it's "your turn" to attack and "their turn" to defend, and vice-versa.
@blooddrinkerS7 жыл бұрын
Yeah that and a combination of not knowing any moves >,>. I also bought an arcade stick cuz i think it's easier to learn that way.
@jimmyjazz34897 жыл бұрын
If your new to Tekken, you just don't have the muscle memory necessary to get good so your only option is training mode. Practicing your combos, setting the dummy to do various actions, etc. For example, you could set the dummy to do a combo and then figure out the different ways to punish it (after blocking, after sidestepping, etc). You can also set the dummy to throw you and you can practice teching it. Then you can set it to do both actions at random. Eventually you're reactions and muscle memory take over and you barely have to think when you play the game, it will be just like breathing. At that point, the game is all about outsmarting your opponent and things get really fun. Watch a lot of KZbin videos or Twitch streams on Tekken and you'll get there. It's a lot of work but it feels really good to be halfway decent and body people.
@blooddrinkerS7 жыл бұрын
That's an interesting idea. Is there such thing as a training dojo? Or am i just seeing stuff :P

Might give it a go but the juggles are lame, same as MK. Always looked ridiculous. I'd much prefer it based on extended footsies. This game is so chunky and the hits look huge, but then they're just floating them around in the air and suddenly rad martial arts looks absurd and otherworldly. All the movement options especially dash canceling seems way out of control, there needs to be some limit and simplicity in movement otherwise the game aspect drains out. Side stepping is cool but dash cancels is a bit much.
@jk8441007 жыл бұрын

I don't think non-Tekken players are going to know what a natural combo is, or that neutral guard doesn't block unnatural combo strings 🤔
@jk8441007 жыл бұрын
skillustrate neutral guard is in street fighter too as long as it's a true block string if you block the first hit you can let go of the stick and it will keep blocking. (which is what it sounds like it is in Tekken)
@skillustrates7 жыл бұрын
That's different-- that's called absolute guard. Neutral guard is what you get when you don't hold back to block, but let the game do it for you by remaining in neutral. And it is a false sense of security because it won't block strings that are blockable by manually guarding (holding back/down-back).
