I had the original in 2013. Glazing issues in 2014, so they gave me a new one. Glazing issues when the 2nd one was three years old in 2017. At that time there was a waiting list and LV was willing to give me a new one when there was one available or give me store credit. I took the store credit. A few years after that I decided to get the black empreinte. (2019, I think) I missed the style and wanted the leather zipperpull which they didn't put on monogram models anymore. Then in 2020 I bought the reverse. I still own those two. That was MY pochette metis journey. I enjoyed watching your video and hearing about your Pochette Metis story.

LV always stand by their products, thats one thing I can count on. Never bought anything preloved but all I bought from directly, they have been amazing even after 20 years. I am very happy you went ahead and did the repair, it is a shame that LV didn't do it for free since the glazing is a known issue and all the trades they did for people in 2019/2020. The reason I didn't take the deal from them in 2019 was because I didn't want to lose my original pull tab, I too love that feature and it makes that era of the PM very special IMO. I went ahead an d just kept my bag even though it has the flap cracking in the corner issue, the hard ridged strap (was a huge issue with the 1st gen of the PM), I have the mushy glazing when its hot out. All in all, I have every issue that bag is known for, and I didn't want to trade it out because of the pull tab so I am SOOOOO HAPPY you got a repair, and the pull tab is there on your new bag! The PM is a classic and I truly believe it will always be a staple in the LV line up. Congratulations on the fine repair and I hope you get to have many more years of wear! Thank you for doing this whole series and sharing all the saga with the shops and the customer service calls and the repair process and the final outcome. Be well and have a lovely weekend : )

I am just so thrilled with how great it looks. I was so concerned it would look like a mash of old and new. They did an amazing job, and including the new strap, it's about 3/4 brand new. I'm very happy and have fallen in love with it all over again.

I’m so glad you’re happy with your repair. It’s nice to have that behind you now. I’m curious what your thoughts are on the monogram canvas as things are going more less logo and minimalistic in design. Are you changing with that quiet luxury trend or do you see LV canvas as classic? I have quite a few monogram and damier ebene bags that I will continue to still use. I also have Hermes belts and designer items that have the logo…like Loewe, YSL, Hermes H Constance belt. I did have Gucci belts but sold those years ago. Anyway, just wondering your stance on all of that. I was told my Hermes H belts are dated and it looks better to not have logos, etc. I consider them classic pieces, but maybe I’m wrong. I like to hear other people’s thoughts. Is the monogram speedy outdated?

Thank you! Funny you should ask about "quiet luxury" because I have a video about that topic in the works. But in a small answer to your question, I consider LV monogram to be classic. It has been in constant fashion since 1896. More about all that to come in the video!

Hi! Welcome to the Just Jennifer family. If you are ordering it, I would suggest you call and ask to speak to a customer care representative and ask if they can attach the leather pull to your new bag (for a cost) before they send it to you. It would probably need to go to the "repair" area, I'm not sure, but perhaps you can request it from the start so that it all comes exactly how you want it and you won't have to send it in to get the pull tab after receiving the bag. I'm very interested in knowing how this goes for you, so please keep me posted! Best of luck!

Did LV not do it for free because you purchased pre-loved? I was thinking that LV would replace or repair due to the glazing issues. I understand paying if is older or your wear & tear. However, I would have paid to have it back also! 😊 Love your videos!!
