My older brother died of dementia. But while he was struggling with it, and didn’t know who we were, or even who his children were. But when you play these hymns, he knew the words. He still knew his LORD.

This song is fairly new to me but I ❤ love it is a beautiful hymn and although I didn't grow up hearing classic hymns but music from charismatic pentecostal songs but I love that the songs are biblically sound so I am so grateful to have found them.

Beautiful song! My daughter used to sing it , as a child. Please pray for her , as she has drifted as an adult, from trust in Jesus. Her name is Virginia. I love her so much. THANK YOU! ❤

Same for my nephew who grew up in a Christian school and went to Sunday school until teens. He is now 35 years old and turned away from God. Pray for Virginia and I surely know how you feel. In God's time...... learn to Trust and Obey...

My mother loved this hymn. I believe she lived it too. She went home March 24, 1999. No last words. The LORD just took her. But she taught us how to pray and I still practice at home a lot.

Thank you so for these wonderful memories of childhood hymns sung in church with my parents, now gone to glory. I recall that in her later years my mother had a home in south Florida where on Tuesday evenings the residents gathered to sing hymns. They had a name for this special evening but I can no longer remember it. I just remembered the name, “Singsperation.” I made light of that in conversations with Mom until that day that I was with her and attended a Singsperation evening. Inside of the first ten minutes God had opened my heart to the praise and worship of our Creator and our Savior. I looked back often with fond memories of 69+ minutes of singing these old hymns in worship of the Almighty. After that first episode, I always wanted to return, but it was as if God gave me a taste and repaid me for my derision of this wonderful tradition. Mom passed away before I could ever go again. So now, I wait until that day when my faith becomes sight and I can again sing these wonderful songs with my mother.

The LORD woke me this morning with this song. My sweet dad took me to church and the old hymns were sung. I memorized the words to several hymns and throughout life’s trials His sweet Holy Spirit has used them to strengthen me. Thank you for sharing.

I was thrilled to find your channel with all that you are doing with hymns! I am a classically trained musician (violist), and during the last few years when the pace of life changed due to the pandemic, I started to casually record hymns that I loved from my childhood and my family heritage. I have really felt recently that this focus is more important than I had realized because there is a great need to bring back the richness of the words and music that reveal the work that God did in the hearts of known and unknown believers throughout the last few generations. You have done a wonderful job of studying the history and learning the ones that were not familiar to you. God bless you!!

I learned this song in my Christian middle school which used the Abeka Homeschool curriculum. That school is where I really got to know the Lord, my first absolute love and this song was definitely one of my favorites. It is one that when I feel like I’m straying or falling into lukewarm territory or when i feel fear I sing because it reminds me that it’s quite simple just trust and obey. He is always in control and I can’t think of anyone better that I’d like to be in control of my life. Thank you Jesus Almighty King of Kings. Til we meet in Heaven Father, I will simply trust and obey the One who Is and Was and Is to come. Also, God bless you for this channel I absolutely love it!

I grew up in a contemporary worship church, and I was occasionally exposed to traditional songs. When I first heard this one, I immediately thought of a song that goes "somewhere in outer space, God has prepared a place for those who trust him and obey."

Yes, I love this song because our Christian journey on the narrow Path requires faith, trust, and obedience. Our diligent study of the Bible, much prayer, and total trust in God especially when we are in times of waiting on God's timing is of the utmost importance in our relationship with Christ.

Verse 2 rings very true ... we can't see His smile but by looking at Him. When our eyes are on Him even though the tempest remains our perspective immediately changes and we are at peace, His peace. Consider Peter who took his eyes off the Lord in the storm and suddenly the wind and waves became an issue, now consider God's promise in Phill 4 to guard us with His peace beyond understanding. i.e. peace that cannot be explained ... shadowless cloudless storms.

Trust and Obey was a congregation favorite of the church I attended for the longest duration while growing up... Today, I resent it as critical thought stopping propaganda, and an almost self regulating device that prevents people from seeking answers outside of doctrine.
