the piano needs to accent the lyrics not the focal point as in this playing, softly playing and more attention the the lyrics from an acappella believer, although the last stanza of the playing is great😉

Sounds carasmatic, if it was dictated by the Holy Spirit, that should be included in the Scriptures. The NAR is demonizing the church. This WAS NH favorite song, no longer.

Luke, Thank you so much for blessing me tonight with these lovely songs that I have loved singing to the Lord over the years, it was a real treat to spend this half hour singing them to the Lord & remembering all that He did on our behalf. I am reading through the book of Hebrews at the moment & this session tied in with the chapters I read today & the reminder that He is our High Priest through his death & resurrection - ch 9. Hebrews is one of my most favourite books!!

Another one with real potential. But so wordy, with long sentences. Maybe watch a bit of Jacob Collier and find out what he does with chord structure. I’ve listened to all the songs you’ve written. This one and “Goodness” I really like…

Thank you so much! This was an early song of mine, written at 18 yrs old. Agree that it's a bit clunky with the long sentences, definitely not a very singable melody!

Enjoyed this song. Well done. Nice arrangement. “If u would, take my heart…and make it good” Nice “hook”. Maybe tighten it up a little, streamline it. It has real potential…thx

Thinking back to this video, I suppose I would have made use of the sources I mention in the video description, and not done a whole lot more digging. Perhaps the claims in those books aren't quite right. Perhaps I should do some more robust research for these!

I was raised a Salvationist in Newfoundland, Our Corps loved all those amazing Wesley hymns it's an amazing experience to take part with a rich good band in singing those great hymns , so theologically rich and true. How very sad that soloist and worship teams have taken this experience away and made us just spectators.

Dear Luke🙂 God continue to bless you, especially for the exposition of this hymn. My sister & I belonged to Clapham Baptist Church in Battersea, London as little girls. She presented a recitation of Gladys Aylward - a missionary in China. The Sunday School children sang this as the Theme Song to this presentation. Tears well up in my eyes as I watch this video. I bet we sang it to her original music as the music was different from your video. I know both & love each one.music 🎶 0:07 My family has since left England & I now reside in Maryland, USA. Please feel free to reach out, i still visit London to see family. I also do missions. BLESSINGS for yr work. You have made my day! Also to all wjo have commented. Much Love🙏🏼🤗

Please Luke..be very careful in recomending Hillsong, Bethel or Elevation music..as they have deviated from the Word of God..protect your listeners from these ministries that have went astray..

Just beautiful--I love The Solid Rock (which I have sung for decades), Cornerstone, and the children's Sunday School song, "The wise man built his house upon the rock, etc..and the house on the sand went flat--SPLAT!" We little kids would clap and giggle at the word SPLAT, as did our daughter & the little kids I worked with in Sunday School. When I was a little girl singing the Solid Rock I misunderstood a little ("out of the mouts of babes...") and sang "all other ground is stinking sand". I laughed about it later for many years until now I have realized that all other ground is indeed rotten and foul, so I again sing "stinking sand". I love your Tshirt--"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." It became a personal battle cry as I struggled thru multiple illnesses including bilateral hip replacement--and I can and He does. God is good! I eventually went back to work as a physician,, caring for the sick as Jesus did. Well, I can't do miracles, but I can offer what I have learned in my day job, pray, and watch the miracles happen. God bless you brother.

I grew up singing the traditional version in church, always loved it. I was part of the worship team at church when contemporary version came out 2 decades later, loved that as well. No matter the style of lyrics or accompaniment, the truth resonates that Christ is our firm foundation!

God gave me this song as I was struggling spiritually. When I researched it I got delivered from the struggle. I didn’t know what it meant and this video helped me to understand the concept of the rock clefting for me so I can hide within it, Jesus being the rock. I like both versions of it.

Hi Luke, I love the revisions John Reese and others made to this beautiful Hymn. I'm eagerly waiting for the great day "When He shall come with trumpet sound, O may I then in Him be found! Dressed in His righteousness alone, Faultless to stand before the throne!" Beautiful job playing and singing this one. Thank you Luke. Blessings
