❤ this hymn. Am wondering who wrote the majestic music to sing it too. It is really sad that these magnificent hymns are no longer sung. The words of old hymns come to me and strengthen and comfort me. Definitely not sung in this 21st century.

This song reminds me of what my dear Mother believed and witnessed. We learned this song at church and became my Mum's favourite. She sang it and taught me how to trust and obey. Not always done for me but I trust my precious Lord and know He is always with my family. Thank you Luke for sharing these great hymns with us. God bless your ministry here on U-tube.

Certainly once we are born again, God sees us "in CHRIST", not as we see ourselves. The song is a Believers song; not that of an unsaved person who has yet to accept what Jesus the Christ has done for them!

Why should the devil have all the good songs? I am listening on Monday ... and this is the day that the Lord has made too. A day of great possibilities - a gift from God. Thank You Lord for every day ... and thank you Luke for bringing us encouragement and such lovely music. God bless you.

July 13th/24 will be forever embedded in my mind, my heart, my soul and spirit. It is the day that the Lord did make. It is a day of many tears as a daughter gives thanks to her now late father that he sacrificed his very life for her and her mother on that unprecedented day! And in her tears she is thankful, for such a beautiful man, husband and father as he! Today, in my country 🇨🇦 it is now July 14 and it is a day, a day the Lord did make that I cry as my father whom I found in bed 49 years ago had died. Today is another July 14, and yes another day in which I am filled with tears! But I am thankful to God for these words of great adversity spoken today by President Donald Trump. Quote: Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday , as it was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening! We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness! ....He then expresses on behalf of us all our love to the other victims and families for those wounded and pays tribute holding in our hearts the memory of a man who gave no thought but shielding his wife and daughter from certain death. This man loved his family, his neighbors and the LORD Jesus Christ! Til we meet again at Jesus's feet! Yes, these are all the days the LORD has made. And this God was with us in our own personal fiery furnace! And so I thank you O loving heavenly Father for you were with us and because you walked with us and you saw our tears we rejoice and our glad for these are the days that you O LORD hath made! Amen! 🙏 🙏 🙏

The Methodist church I watch on line sings it after the offering is brought to the front. The pastor raised it over her head as all look towards the large cross on the wall. That is in Virginia USA.

Wow! I heard this song during a UGA game and it caught me off guard. It made my eyes water. And I had to nearly brush away some of the tears.

Thank you for the history of this song, and guy singing with the lyrics was nice too. It's the day after an attempt was made on Trump's life, and I thought of this song as Divine Intervention spared him so that we may be spared for very good reasons.

Amen & Amen!! Yes I often sing this is the day to myself & remind myself to rejoice & be glad in it, no matter what happens or comes my way!! Something we often forget to do is thank the Lord for our days, we get up & immediately the cares of the day start seeping into our conscious mind, often thoughts of what we forgot to do the day before, in my case it is that I forgot to take something out of the freezer for this new days meals!! Oops! Still I have an electric steamer to fix that problem!!😆 Thank you for this bright & cheery message to brighten my evening as I saved this video for Sunday!!

I love the way you break down the song as we go through it as I hear it better with you saying the words they are singing because I am deaf & don't hear a lot of the nuances & so enjoy the song & appreciate the music much better. I do very much like this song so I will go & find the words to read through & then listen to it again. I must admit that I first thought it was going to be a new rendition of Fredrick Lehman's wonderful song called Love of God which would have to be one of my most loved songs from my younger years in church but never hear it sung these days sadly!! Please look it up & maybe one day consider singing it for us either one Friday or Sunday in your videos as I would greatly appreciate it as I am sure others would too. Blessings Luke & thank you for all your videos as they are a touch of heaven come to earth!

It was a cold windy day on April 9, 1971 at a Community Good Friday Service that I first heard this hymn. On that day I was accompanying a Christian college student choir to a church where the choir was to perform in Buffalo, NY, at noon. I was standing outside the bus door after the choir had disembarked and was going into the church. A middle aged man in a heavy overcoat and shoes on the wrong feet came up to me to talk. I had finished my college studies the previous year and was spending 18 months in Buffalo as a missionary at another church. This choir was from my alma mater. As we talked, a man came down the church steps and approached me and the man. He introduced himself by name as the chairman of deacons, and said, "sir, we'er getting ready to have a service, could you move along?" Hesitantly the man walked away. I could hardly believe what I just heard. But, time for the service came and we did the usual. People from various other churches had gathered, prayed, sung songs, read scripture, and ministers performed their public duties. I kept thinking of the man who was asked to move away and not bother us. Then we sang "I Stand Amazed in the Presence of Jesus the Nazarene." Chills popped up on my arms as I sang with the congregation. My mind was on the man who wanted someone to talk to (and seek money from). My mind asked, "How can a man sing 'I stand amazed' after telling someone to leave?" This seemed so hypocritical to my young mind. I can never sing this hymn without the image of that man in my mind and and the hypocrisy of many Christians. A young lady in that choir took a picture of me and that man as we talked. It is a constant reminder of that day when a ministry opportunity was missed. We can get so caught up in busy activities that we forget why we celebrate the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus. As to that young lady who snapped the picture, 52 years ago she became my bride and joined me on our journey in ministry.

If not the greatest hymn of all time. It's not just the art of composing words of eloquence but moreover, the meaningfullness each word and line expresses about the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

I gave my heart to Jesus in 1963 at age 12 at a Youth for Christ Rally in Cleveland, Ohio where a Billy Graham movie was shown and this song was sung at the end. It was the most important moment of my life - it changed it for eternity.

I believe the "word" mentioned in the song is Jesus, the word of God. The verses flow from each other and connect together. "One little word will fell him" is followed by "that word above all earthly powers" It is clearly speaking about the exact same word. The word again being Jesus, who as you clearly pointed out it, is the word made flesh. Other than that great explanation.
