I installed linux on my phone (because why not) and out of all the options LXQT worked great with my phone. Well, as well as it can work on mobile since it's handicapped by ARM. Also, I know it isnt a big deal but I prefer the default look of LXQT in comparison to XFCE.

LXQt + Openbox is my go-to setup for Linux. It's not the most flashy and pretty thing but it makes exactly what I want.

Amarok looks great and that it's Debian is ofc. a +. I however love my Manjaro xfce but maybe I should try booting it up from a stick just to play with it. Great vid.

I remember the Amarok media player on KDE, I wonder if the same developers made this distro. I thought lxde/lxqt desktops were a lot lighter than this one is. Still seemed quick enough. Thanks again for another informative video.

Amarok also seems to be a good competitor, alongside Exlight Linux with Enlightenment desktop, for my old dual core PC! What is cool is that both are Debian, which is very stable, to which you can add flatpaks and make the OS rock solid and fast 👍

I'm downloading it for my VENTOY-- I kinda miss the POP TILING extension--but I am sure there's a script or something as good.

You know you can use NIX package manager with any linux distro? Even with Arch, but... you can have super stable Debian base with the latest softwares just by adding Nix package maneager to your system and installing the software you need thru Nix

I installed Amarok LXQt on a test laptop because while I like XFCE a lot, I have been curious about LXQt for a long time. 596 updates tried to install (over and over) and ALL failed because of two dependencies. The support forum is in Portuguese - with an empty english one - and because the distro has the same name as Amarok the old, popular music player (2003!), it's fairly difficult to search for answers. I'll delete the thing, I really don't like it. No harm done, bit of time wasted - but I'd say your overviews would be more useful if they were more in depth.

All you have to do is install the translate extension to your browser and everything switches to English. I installed it on a 8 year old HP laptop with no issues. If I do have issues with the distribution I generally do cover it.

@@eBuzzCentral That could have been in the video, is my point. Portuguese support forum - not a trivial detail. And failed updates on first run.. yeah. I'll wait a few more years on LXQt.

i LIKED Amarok when it had the POP TILING shell-- don't care for this- and I'm NOT a gamer.... have more important things to do.. :) (not knocking gaming- I just don't have time for it.)... but I don't care for this one.. Well- I didn't when I glanced at it-- but after watching this-- it looks pretty good.. !!! :) (you have a habit of showing me things I didn't see or whatever and i end up liking what I didn't...) ha.

I had an OLDER version of AMAROK with the POP tiling function and LOVED that.... it was NICE-- but I don't think it's on this one.. oh well.

POV: U r using Amarok linux lxqt with 700 mb of ram & is less user friendly & has less functionality compared to others DEs. Me: Using KDE Plasma with 700 mb of ram & is more user-friendly & has more functionality then Amarok Linux Lxqt.

I come back to KDE too-- no matter what.. and so far I've always come back to SPARKY linux KDE.. and LOVE it.. no matter what I change to I makei it look like what it does now on my desktop-- so since it's DEBIAN with stability-- why keep changing when I always recreate what I have now anyway??? I am considering NITRUX simply because the CORE is immutable-- compared to my Sparky!!
