We have an ex-Cardinal O360 in our RV6 and it has the Duel mag also. I think about it often. So far so good. We will be sending it out for the 500 hour overhaul soon to RFD. Do you recommend anyone else? Thanks, John Dill

The guys in Rockford are a good shop, that's a very good choice.

Interesting for me since I have a Vans RV6 with a O360 from a Cardinal which also has the duel mag. Any idea what caused the mag drive to fail?

Others have had issues with the bushing spinning, possibly if it wasn't staked. The bushing position would have to have been moved as part of line boring the case. which was done twice on my case. The non-D engine does not even have this bearing.

@@cardinalflyer ours is a high time engine nearing TBO and the mag will be pulled for 500 hr overhaul at next annual. We can check that bushing then I guess. We plan on going well past TBO with oil analysis and other checks.

Curious if you have your Cardinal engine repaired and your plane is up and running?

Yes indeed! Just flew home from Cincinnati in it today. I didn't do a video of the multi-day installation... not very exciting. But I do have a video or two I should put together about how it changed with the new prop.

@@cardinalflyer Thank you for your update. As a non pilot 80+ year old man and your Cardinal fan, I was getting a little concerned about your absence. I must confess I finally thought to check flight tracker, and saw your plane was flying and assumed it was you.

Just use the hoist and put some chocks under the pallet so you can get the hoist leg under it. Jeeze, you amatuers sure do it the hard way.

My, what a diplomat you are! ;-/ Nice thing about working on the floor is that it is pretty hard to drop things very far from there. Worth considering on very heavy multi-thousand dollar projects.
