I was in the hospital in 2021 dying. As a pastor, I know the word and his scriptures on healing and I had many people across the country praying for me. I’m coming up on the one year anniversary of my wife’s passing. We were married 45 years and I miss her. I know God carries us through times like this, but we need reminded that he is with us. I know that God had me in mind when you sang this particular song. I recently went through the darkest time in my life. I had non-stop anxiety and was very depressed. I was afraid of everything. I was fearful to leave my home and stopped communicating with all my friends and family. Many people were praying for me. I felt totally abandoned by God. I cried out to Him constantly, but felt like He wasn’t hearing me. I wanted to die because life was so difficult. Being consistently anxious and depressed was not a life worth living. I thought a lot about taking a lot of pills and simply going to sleep and never waking up. My daughter, who lives in Germany was so concerned showed up on my doorstep. To make a long story short, with the help of medication, God restored my mind. It was a journey that took a year. God was faithful and I am not only okay, but I am shouting His praises. Not a day goes by without me thanking Him for the miracle of healing my mind. My faith is so strong and I declare God”s goodness and my gratefulness to Him every single day!! I'm am sadden that you went through that. But cherish her memory in good ways. I also am going through something that is affecting my mental and physical health by being over medicated from a psychiatrist assistant who prescribed two new drugs to the five I already had been taking to help my mental health. But I hope God will help or bring me to heaven if it's my time somehow. And I'm currently going through this for maybe the past two weeks. But it first started mid to end of July this summer. But I thought it was dehydration. But I'm currently having similar symptoms to what happened late in the summer. I also feel like I've been slowly going insane from the physical pain the 7 mental health medications I'm on. While feeling like I'm slowly dieing, with despair and the feeling like I'm loosing this battle. To where I started listening to this type of music again. So I get some hope when I have none myself. But I hope God will help me through his healing embrace. So I can have peace of mind and body.

I like both versions, but this one speaks more powerfully to me. Sitting on the floor is often times a posture of desperation for me. I sit on the floor when darkness surrounds me and I can’t see the way forward. To sit on the floor in the midst of a crisis and to say, “I’ll be okay,” that is a true demonstration of faith.

Just six months ago I lost most of my eyesight in both eyes in just 2 1/2 weeks due to high brain pressure.those weeks in the hospital were horrible and it is still very much a challenge to learn to live with the little sight I have left.
