@@Liam_Phoenix Agreed. In Mirabel's eyes, Isa surely hates her as much as she hates her (we see how bad their relationship is, and the one who caused this, was yet again Abuela. The pressure she put on Isa make her jealous of Mira for not having that pressure while Mira is envious of the attention Isa gets from Abuela. They only see how good the other have it, because she has what the other can't have) In the previous song, Camillo was the only one who seemed to try to reach for Mira rather than the candle, likely because they are the same age and he feels closer to her than his siblings on this point, just like she may have compared to her perfect oldest sister who hates her or her older sister that is made to run across the village for everyone.
@itdoesnotmatter12Ай бұрын
@@orianefaton1885I could see them definitely "hating" each other but let's be honest under that jealous/envious hate, the two sisters definitely care and love each other. I don't think Isabela would actually be happy seeing her youngest sister dying even if she's so angry at her and feeling 'hate' towards her. In their childhood days before Alma starts pressuring Isabela even more pressure, The two eldest and youngest were so close.

The romance song is about how two people (butterflies) came together, but had to part, then at the end Mirabel found the butterfly at the creek when she and her grandmother had their talk and the love was rekindled between them. Yes her children are reminders of her husband but it compares nothing to the very blessing of being alive which only the candle granted. You act like she intended to neglect her family. She had conditioned herself to believe she needed to be perfect and be the leader of an entire village because the candle only appeared to her. Also its a literal magic candle! You act like its a regular object. The candle is the only reason they were able to continue supporting the village until they no longer needed its assistance (which is probably why mirabel didn't get a gift aside from the fact she is the next to keep the family together). But by that point Abuela had already relied heavily on the candle and its blessings to keep the village thriving. Thats why she learns at the end she doesn't need it nor do they need any powers to remain safe because the dangers are already gone and having each other is all they need.

Even when blowing out the candle to make her family feel even a fraction of the pain she has endured, Mirabel still loves her family. I remember something someone once said that I feel is very true, that hate itself comes from love, that we hate someone because they hurt or were a threat to someone we love, or they were someone we once loved. Mirabel loves her family even now, but the pain she has endured whether direct or indirect has taken that love and turned it into hate. And even after blowing out the candle, she questions whether what she did was the right thing, with her asking herself, “What have I done?” However, Mirabel doubles down on the fact that it’s her family’s fault this happened, otherwise she would break, because how would her family love her now? And even now, Abuela’s focus is on the candle, not on Mirabel, because that is what is important to her. Mirabel’s mother tried to reach out to her, but she quickly realizes how it’s too little too late, as sometimes it’s the ones who stand by that makes it hurt even more. At the end where you see each family members expressions in one panel, her mother is the only one shedding tears, because she now sees Mirabel’s pain and wishes she could just take it all away, that she had done more so Mirabel wouldn’t feel so alone. Even Mirabel’s expression at the end isn’t one of victory, of finally destroying what Abuela cherishes the most, it’s of resignation, of defeat. She is so broken and tired that she just wants to leave everything behind, because even if she goes back now there is nothing left for her. Very poetic that it’s the candle that burns the butterfly to ash, representing the family tradition destroying the change that could have healed old wounds. Thank you Lydia for another great song that I didn’t think we’d ever get a part 2, but now I’m hoping there might one day be a part 3. Looking forward to your next song. Still hoping for a part 2 of Anna’s villain song, I’d like to see where she travels emotionally after her last encounter with Elsa. The hate/love thing also works well with other characters from different media and the main one that I think works well is Optimus Prime and Megatron (Mainly Transformers Prime one) Optimus didn't wish to terminate Megatron's spark and hopes to change his mind while Megatron (I believe) wants his old friendship that he had back (Optimus said that the two of them were like brothers so that can hit hard if anyone felt that way [which would be worse if they were blood related too]) and plus our John Brown (watched Extra History for this) actually says that "peace to slavery was not possible and answer to this was immediate and total. If that required a violent uprising, then so be it" that was similar to Megatron's approach, but peace was favored in Optimus case unless you grow up in a place that war was constant

No one is talking about how even the animals are turning around. They also want no part in this power. Either that or mirabel now holds all of their individual powers in her hands (literally in the form of the candle but also in a weird power transfer). It was such an interesting concept. The butterfly killing itself in the flame by repeatedly trying to get close is 100% mirabel all this time and now her old self has completely died. We keep seeing glimpses of her but I think the mirabel of now is trying to mourn the loss of the mirabel from before (since she assumes no one else will). The animals turning their heads just shows that even they won’t participate, whether in the hunt for mirabel or to comfort mirabel. I think they are also done being pawns in someone’s game.

The amulet is implied to transcend space and time so it could summon all the villainous princesses instead who further make her a villain even ones from different continuities like both Villian Elsa and Villain Anna. She is very powerful at the end of the series being the story keeper, protecter of the realms and can even take the power of the wicked 9 for herself and use her OP magic to summon all the villainous princess and use her own magic and status to take over all of not only Enchancia but the Mystic Isles and the whole EverRealm itself because that was being royal all around Power.

Mirabel says she has nothing left to lose, but that's only because she gave everything she has left up. She has loving family, but she sees the power as the driving force, not their love for her. And she knows this deep down. Her tears as she breaks the candle shows this, but she feels she cannot stop now even when she could.
@Mikey-ve6wdАй бұрын
She might actually know. But the way she's been treated until now? What would change, even if she stopped? The trauma is too much. And it may be unrealistic to expect change. And what would she even expect at all? Sometimes, you can't imagine something differently. After a point, it becomes impossible.
@edouardnigma1351Ай бұрын
@@Mikey-ve6wd not to mention that at a certain point, it's almost impossible to let the treatment go. it's already been cemented as fact to the traumatized, so what can change that fact in a way that is seen as permanent? in this instance, she's seen that they suddenly care, but i'm willing to believe that part of the decision to crush the candle was to see who's caring for HER, as opposed to caring about the candle she's holding. without the candle, what reason does the grandmother have to continue to follow Mirabel? without The Miracle, why is Mirabel important? granny know-nothing just focuses on the miracle, and in the movie eventually realizes the real miracle is the family, not the candle giving special powers. but the problem is, it takes her LOSING The Miracle just to understand that. in this song, she just realized how bad she was, but i want to be slightly optimistic and say she might not have known it in time to stop the events. but from Mirabel's point of view.... oh good lord, personal experience despite having no siblings, it's hell when you get sidelined for the image you have to present, the part you have to play despite wanting to be yourself instead of the puppet dancing on the strings of the superior. i'll close this out by saying cold anger and dangerous lines of thought can go hand in hand, and she had all the motive to go for more permanent methods. she did the family a favor by taking away the powers instead of some things more easily taken. TL:DR Mirabel is justified in breaking the candle, because it's a test of who loves and cares about her for HER, not the candle she's carrying. and she has every right to do this test, too.
@Joel-i4rАй бұрын
What I love about this song is the butterfly symbolism about it! The fact one of the butterflies burned to death thanks to the candle, like saying that the family (or in this case Mirable) was just hurting thanks to the candle, aka, the magic of the family
@voideddragon9104Ай бұрын
Mirabel doesn't even feel like a villain by choosing to extinguish and destroy the candle, The weight of the expectations the gifts brought weighed far more than the gifts truly gave. To the point Abuela only cared about their powers and what SHE personally thought is best for the "family", ignoring all the suffering and problems she was causing with this fixation. Sure, Mirabel is playing the part of an antagonist by making this choice, but I feel like even now she's still doing what she feels would genuinely help everyone. And honestly, several members of the family ARE better off without these gifts that overshadowed their own personal wants, desires, and lives.

Mirabel Villain Song Part 2 - Nothing Left to Lose (Lyrics) No, no, no, no Should've talked about Bruno... No one should have this much power, Especially when they Lord it over others I've done you a Favour. The magic was a curse, not a Blessing. But you'd still manipulate your Family and do anything to get it Back, wouldn't you? Who do you think you are, gambling with lives again Kids up for auction to sate your dumb greed Who do you think you are, come to petition Hearts The chips are Down so you beg on your knees Who do you think you are, lost all you're living for Surely you see all the harm it brought us Who do you think you are Family means Nothing now Not when you're selling your sons and Daughters And I've bet all I have To See this house Collapse So are you feeling Scared now Feel that sweat on your brow Now you know I have nothing left to lose Changing your tune "Oh, we're so proud of you" Didn't you hear You're no longer what I choose Don't you underestimate Victims as they lie in wait Cos you can be sure they'll be striking back Bets are placed and I'm all in Sure they say the House will win but With everything I've been though You'll learn to fear the one with nothing left to lose No one left for me No one to hold on to but in Truth really was there ever? Do I regret my Choice? Did I forget myself? Have I brought on a new contender? No I won't doubt myself Not when the Die is Cast The fates have spoken out their conclusion But did I have a Choice? Is free will truly mine? Is my freedom all an illusion? And I've bet all I have To see this house Collapse So are you feeling Scared now Feel that sweat on your brow Now you know I have nothing left to lose Changing your tune "Oh, we're so proud of you" Didn't you hear You're no longer what I choose Don't you underestimate Victims as they lie in wait Cos you can be sure they'll be striking back Bets are placed and I'm all in Sure they say the House will win but With everything I've been though You'll learn to fear the one with nothing left to lose Spent my every day Trying to Play your Game To appease and Please you Eyes filled with disdain A candle to a Flame That I must live up to Your love wasn't real A fake and petty play to manipulate us Naming your failing s but don't believe a Word you're saying Give me one reason why I should give up the fight Cos if I let you Win Then all of this will be for nothing And we'll go back to the Hell we were in So are you feeling Scared now Feel that sweat on your brow Now you know I have nothing left to lose Changing your tune "Oh, we're so proud of you" Didn't you hear You're no longer what I choose Don't you underestimate Victims as they lie in wait Cos you can be sure they'll be striking back Bets are placed and I'm all in Sure they say the House will win but With everything I've been though You're learn to fear the one with nothing left to lose. - End -

The fact that the candle was Alma and Pedro's unity candle from their wedding and is one of the few things Abuela had of her old life & husband adds to the pain. I now really want an Antonio villain song maybe after seeing his cousin suffer and be mistreated by their own family, on his ceremony he had resentment towards the candle and in this version he got his room and powers but he used his animal friends to grab the candle for him and run into the room and go up the stairs to blow out the candle or throw it down the waterfall that’s in his room to destroy it and maybe during the song Mirabel is trying to get him to stop and he’s opening her eyes to how it really is. I think Mirabel is more on the side of “well they’re my family and I know they love me in their own way so it’s ok” regarding their treatment of her while Antonio, who yes is a kid but kids are perspective to things adults do and is like “no they didn’t love you Mirabel they didn’t give you your own room” cause I have a head canon that once Antonio was old enough to understand emotions and empathy I think that leading up to his ceremony day Mirabel would cry herself to sleep knowing she’ll be alone in the nursery and despite her efforts to tell Antonio that she’s fine he knows she’s not thus villain song time!

I find it funny that Part 1 ended with the implication that Mirabel KILLED her family, while this one is basically her being tired of everyone's shit. Less a "Villain Mirabel" and more of a "Done Mirabel". Am I the only one who noticed that these two songs put together kinda represent the initial thought and eventual truth behind the vision? The first showed Mirabel as an active threat, gleefully and maliciously tearing down everything the Madrigals have built. But the second? The second is the truth: a young girl tired of being pushed aside and mistreated, deciding to simply separate herself from the toxic environment. Two songs. A manifestation of fear and anger: Alma's greatest fear and the anger that dwells within Mirabel's heart. Loved this song, loved the last song, and just plain love your work in general;)

Queen Amaya's Villain Song Amaya has the most reasonable reason to become a villain, she sees the man she loves become corrupted by magic and straight up turns into a complete madman. And as someone who was unsatisfied with the movie's ending, it brought me immense joy to see her declare that she no longer wanted them in her life and turned their back on them. Traumatic past or not, they all chose to keep sidelining her. She has every right to want them out of her life.

Even those who didn't sideline her, like Julietta was never really doing it, same for Luisa (at least, never consciously for them) were likely too busy. Luisa had to run everywhere to do everyone's errands and Julietta alternated between cooking and feeding people to heal them. Camillo is likely in a similar situation, in having to go around town, transforming into people and replacing them.

In my opinion, Mirabel had every right to be a villain but in the original chose kindness and love. This is the ending everyone who has ever felt like a Mirabel or Bruno in their own family wanted to see. There is only so much a person can take before they decide to stop being nice and treat others the way they were treated. This truly is the epitome of "Why should I apologize for being the monster? No one ever apologized for making me this way."

The lines "Oh, we're so proud of you." especially hits hard in this song because that's what Mirabel wanted. She wanted to be treated like her family, she wanted to love them and be loved in return. But their family had became so obsessed with their powers that even for the ones who did care for her even without any powers still didn't do anything. Antonio, Isabela, Lusia, Camilo, and Dolores I get since they are Mirabel's siblings and cousins. Antanio is literally a child and the others have their own issues to deal with. But the adults? They didn't do anything. They didn't take the kids and leave even after seeing how they were being treated. Yes, it's their culture for the family to live together and I don't mean to disrespect that culture. I just don't see how following that aspect of their culture is worth more than a person's health, safety, and hapiness. Is it really worth it if it makes the people you claim to love misrable? The first time it's said at 1:10, Mirabel is pointing out that they didn't show that they were proud of her even if she didn't have a gift. And she didn't do it by just pointing it out. Instead she moved her mother's hand to her cheek and said the words that she wanted to hear for so long as if her mother (Juliete) was the one to say it. She made the situation she wanted, but it wasn't real. Her mother hadn't been the one to say it, Mirabel had been. At 2:25, Juliete was looking at her hand because of what Mirabel did at 1:10. The realization of how much Mirabel has been hurting is sinking in. And if Mirabel has been hurting this whole time, then what about Lusia and Isabela? What about the rest of the family? The realization that the family wasn't perfect and happy was sinking in for her. And the last time at 3:35, Mirabel becomes what she had needed. She is the one telling her child safe that she is proud. Because she knows the pain it brings of trying to make those around you proud and not being enough because of something out of your control. So she is the one telling her kid self that she is proud, she is the one supporting and praising kid Mirabel when nobody else would.

“Have i brought on a new contender?” God that is amazing, if I am interpreting this one right, Mirabel is actually thinking that she may have completely ruined Antonio’s life. His new gift that he was so happy of, taken away from him almost immediately after, despite him not doing anything to Mirabel. For one second she asked herself, have I made another villain? Did I ruin his life so bad, just like the rest have done to me? Will that be back to bite me later? I like that Antonio is the embodiment of what little remorse she has. Perhaps he may even play a part in why she's doing this. She doesn't want Antonio to live in suffocating pressure like she and the rest of her family did. And whereas the first song, her anger and pain was focused on most of the family, in the second song Mirabelle's anger is zeroed in on Alma, being the epicenter of all their pain, not just her pain, but everyone's. Blowing out the candle isn't enough, and she realizes this when Alma reaches for it. Even after Mirabelle's breakdown, Alma still cares more about a candle than her own granddaughter. And so, she's desperate to ensure that all of this was not for nothing, even if she dies on that cliff, she is desperate to ensure that Alma loses the house.
