Thank you Lydia, this is exactly the kind of content I want! Less outfits, more explanation and context that helps me apply the same principles to different pieces I already have. The dreaded question of "what shoe with what shape of trouser" is such a challenge since the arrival of all these new bottom silhouettes, so this is super helpful to me. Great advice and outfits. The only thing I'd add is that different body types might quite like the things that don't work for you. I'm top heavy with broad shoulders so I love combining wide or slouchy jeans with tight shirts as my body takes care of the balance.

Masterclass. I’d Love this for winter too! Specially which style of boots suits better! I feel all boots look the same, just chunky and usuallt cuts off the leg in a weird place. As a very hippy short plus-size girl, I think dark wash high waist skinny jeans look best on me because they’re essentially leggings to the eye… I don’t wear pants often (in favor of skirts), but if I do, they’re all I want when it’s chilly out ESPECIALLY with a pointed flat

Love this new type of styling videos! So much more informative than most youtubers', which mainly consist of hauls. I appreciate you modelling the "dont's" as well; that was extremely helpful. If I may give some feedback to help further improve the format: can you also include a split screen of the Do and Don't outfits (easier to compare them when they are side by side) and added more text to help emphasize keypoints (not just headings). Please do a winter version, as well. I struggle to find what shoe goes with which type of denim. Thanks, Lydia! Great video!

Oh yes, the struggle of "what shoe with what shape of denim/trouser" is real! Helpful video, thank you! That said, while sandals are great SPRING/SUMMER options, what does one wear when it gets colder out? I live in Canada and when fall arrives in Sept/Oct I happily celebrate BOOT SEASON but the fact is, end of October my toes have to go in full shoes/boots! So for me and many others who have to dress for colder climates, it would be great to get some footwear options/fashion advice for that.

This is a brilliant video Lydia and very well thought out. It's informative and I don't really see any other styling/fashion content like it. The 'Do's and Don't' format for each type of jean is excellent and visual examples make what you're saying much more understandable. A similar Do's and Don'ts' video for proportions generally would be really useful. For example, you mentioned that boxy jeans required a boxy style top to balance them out but then an all skinny look doesn't necessarily work i.e. all of one can work but all of the other doesn't really. I would have thought that skinny with skinny would have made more sense from a 'balance' perspective based on your initial comment but then when I saw the examples, your point made sense visually. It would be very helpful if you could elaborate on these proportion 'rules' further as it relates to different types of outfits e.g. tailored trousers, skirts, shorts etc. especially coming into autumn now when jumpers and more covered outfits will be required to stay warm. Keep up the great work, you're carving out a niche for yourself with these videos!

This is a great video, I love how you explained everything. My only concern is that I love blazers, but I live in California where summer weather lasts year long. Thankfully, I am always cold so in the evenings a blazer works well but when the temperature gets close to 90°F, blazers or anything like that is hard to wear and can even look ridiculous when you're trying to look stylish. Any tips on how to swap the blazer for something more fresh. I would love to hear any suggestions. And please continue to educate us, you're awesome!
