Another possible saving source is buying the local newspaper and picking up the freebie newspapers. We bought a local newspaper for one dollar that had a 2 for 1 casino buffet coupon in it. We used the coupon on the sea food night. So, what would have cost us $40.00 was only $20.00. Less the cost of the newspaper, we saved $19.00, Not bad. Also you might scan the local newspaper at the public library to see if there are any saving before actually buying the paper. Another good savings with local papers is seeing if there are any free or very inexpensive things to do in your area.

Sorry to hear about allergies. We aren’t FMCS members. We have a fifth wheel. We have the diesel truck cards. Saves tons and makes it easier to fill up. We do have Good Sam. We mainly stay at state, county and TTs. We only have the basic. southeast and trails collection. Around $800. Bought it when state parks in Florida shut down. Once we can boondock, we might get Harvest Hosts. National Park Passes are the best. I didn’t know about the COE discount! We have an Amazon credit card. We use points earned all the time to get free things on Amazon. I don’t know if we can calculate that. Escapees saved us money when we bought our battle born lithium batteries. Paid for itself already. We paid for an after market warranty. So far a waste of money. Very informative. Thanks. Stay safe. Alice.

We have two cards one from our credit union and a Capital One VISA. If you ever decide to go to Canada be sure the credit card you have will do the exchange of money free and not charge you. Our Capital One card does not charge you and it was great to not worry about trying to figure out the exchange rate. Also most credit unions charge a lower interest rate. Never good to carry a balance but you might have to for a couple of months if you have a large repair bill. Our credit union card also pays cash back rewards. We like having two cards just in case one gets compromised. This happened to us one year while traveling. Took a month to get a new card but we had another credit card so we traveled on. Just a thought. Enjoy your videos!

Thanks guys for sharing your life's experiences with all of us. One thing I would like to know, I am assuming certain national parks may not allow you to stay because your rv is too long. It would be nice to have a guide of some kind with such information. I know it includes the tow vehicle as well. Oh by the way, can you tell me in your opinion since I have looking to purchase a gas rv with the same engine. Will this rv of mine pull a small pickup truck like a toyota tocoma with a 750 lbs motorcycle in the bed.. Thanks. Cant' go without my motorcycle you know. LOL. Ps. Be blessed and once again Thank you for caring and sharing.
@LyfUninterrupted4 жыл бұрын
Most importantly, you must check the towing capacity of your RV before towing anything! Most RVs have a hitch rating/towing capacity of at least 5000 pounds, but be sure to check your RVs towing capacity as well as the GVWR. Your RV should have stickers somewhere that indicate all of that information. Never, under any circumstances, exceed the GVWR for your RV! One way to know the weight of your RV/towed vehicle is to get it weighed at a CAT scale which are located at many truck stops. Hope this helps.

Did you mention Military Campgrounds MWR
@LyfUninterrupted4 жыл бұрын
HI Bob. No, we didn't. In general, to use a military campground you must be a military retiree or dependent, a spouse or minor dependent of an active duty service member, a National Guard or Reservist or minor dependent, or a 100-percent service-connected disabled veteran.
@bobmakow554 жыл бұрын
Lyf Uninterrupted not anymore it has recently changed, you no longer need to be a retiree. They expanded it as of Jan 1st. www.militarycampgrounds.us/news-and-articles-mainmenu-2/latest-news/many-veterans-gain-access-to-mwr-facilities
@LyfUninterrupted4 жыл бұрын
Hi Bob. Here's the way I read the Bill. Subtitle C, Section 621 of the new bill simply extended certain MWR privileges for certain veterans and their caregivers. The bill doesn't supersede the current requirements, it simply extends to additional categories of Veterans and Purple Heart recipients. Being a retiree (whether or not you fall into one of the extended categories) is still one of the requirements in order to use MWR facilities. Moreover, Veterans who do not fall into any of the existing or extended categories are still not eligible to use MWR facilities.
@bobmakow554 жыл бұрын
Lyf Uninterrupted as a disabled non-retiree veteran I am now eligible also. So as of January the campgrounds are now available to all disabled veterans retired or not with proper ID.

Is your savings calculated above the cost? Such as cost is $30 and save $150 - would that savings be 180 minus the 30 cost? Grest video
@LyfUninterrupted4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ann. The savings is a net number which takes into account the cost of the membership. Let’s take our Harvest Hosts membership as an example. The membership cost us $49. We stayed 3 nights($30 average per night if we had paid to stay somewhere else). $90 minus $49 is a realized savings of $41. $Hope this helps.

Our savings for each membership is a net number calculation based on cost of the membership and an average daily rate of $30. Let’s take our Harvest Hosts membership as an example: The membership cost is $49. We stayed 3 nights at a potential cost of $90($30 average per night if we had paid to stay somewhere else). $90 minus $49 is a realized savings of $41. Hope this helps.

Just as a heads up and in the spirit of sharing: Escapees used to have a really good add on for boondocking/free type campsites for a nominal extra add on to the actual membership (sorry can't remember the name of it). We use extensively for boondocking as we rarely ever go into actual campgrounds other than odd COE beautiful ones like in Couer d'alene etc = Freecampsites.net, ioverlander and for dumps love sanidumps.com. As well we will check out say when close to national forests or known state owned area: USFS, BLM, Trustee lands AZ. As I said just sharing some other ideas. Believe there's a new one as well lately that's coming up in the ranks called www.Freeroam.app which we every so often check on to see how it's progressing on usefulness. My husband and I married 34+ yrs just purchased also a 2008 winnebago. Matter fact just last night lol. Now we r second guessing our selfs wonder WTH have we just done. HONESTLY!!! We thought, buy a camper, wife fills it up, pick a spot and go camp. Well NO!!! After already committed in buying this thing the sellers proceed to go over everything with us like a fine tooth comb. I'm standing there going, YEP, UHHH UMMM, NICE, REALLY, WOW, OKAY!!! Saying every whip snitch, honey you hear that??? Honey did u get that?? He's replying, YEP, SURE DID!!° Deep down I'm thinking, GOD I HOPE.. So we make the $$$$ purchase I jump in jeep, he gets in camper and off we go. The entire ride home I'm thinking, OMG so much to soak in. And WHAT???? USE 1PLY TOLIET PAPER!!! Never knew there was such thing. Dont sleep with generator on all night we found the carbon monoxide levels shot up... REALLY?? I thought that was the whole purpose of the generator. No electric, no problems...... Use generator. UMMM GUESS NOT! I just wanted to camp NOT die anytime soon. So ya I'm freaking out all the way home. Praying, man Tom I hope u really understood them. We get home and i tell Tom, i wanna go for a little ride. Tom says, jump in and let's go. He turns the key over and all we hear is this. DING DING DING DING LOUD AS CAN BE. 100% lost as to what?? Why?? Are you serious all ready!! After about 30MIN OF checking everything we could think I gave up when inside and called the previous owners. HELP!!! Another 30 with them on phone and still, DING DING DING DING°!! I'm thinking, omg have we just made a huge mistake. Aprox 5 hours later, 1130pm hubby comes in and says, wanna go for that ride now??? Lol hell no!! It ended up being one of the level Jack's had slipped down. Well hell we had no clue. Thought those came down only when one of those buttons was pushed.. Tom had to LITERALLY crawl under there and beat it back in spot. He said the switch just would NOT bring that one back in place. Something we had no clue about what so ever.. To say we are a little worried now would be an UNDERSTATEMENT!! We purchased this for the pleasure. So far it's been a bit painful lol. With me saying all that. One thing I did remember her saying was, get on youtube and you will find some great advice and really learn a lot. So I jumped on and found you two right off the bat. After watching your video the excitement has been set back in place. We refuse to let that little DING DING DING right off the bat scare us out. I'm sure that's not going to be the last we run into issues. Oh ya, speaking of issues lol Hubby says when we got home. Sorry wife, I have not a damn clue what all they went over while there. Maybe 10% of it. You know all those hand books they had setting there, well get ready to start reading.. HONESTLY!! We own 6 acres out here. I told hubby, I think our best bet is to, pull this thing down by the woods behind house, hook into the HOUSE ELEC and pretend camp. You know, like we did as kids lol. This way we can play around and learn all we need to before getting our self stuck somewhere in B*F*E So pretend camping here we come!!! Hey at least we will have the net. Cause god knows we are gonna be watching a lot of KZbin LOL Thanks guys for making me make light of this. You two are living our dream ENJOY LIFE AND HAVE FUN!! Think of us while traveling .
