Hey man love the content, just a simple question, I am doing my thesis book, and I sometimes put the images in the middle of the two pages, so how do u suggest I do it since if I keep it as is the binding will eat a huge part of the image.

Hey! What kind of binding are you looking to do, coil will be very different from saddle stitch and so on. One method is to put the majority of the image on one page so that the content is still legible while you get that feeling that it's on two pages.

Thank you so much for this tutorial :) Just a quick question - wouldn't it be easier to put each element in its own layer, rather than clicking to send elements to the back or bring forward? Or does that vary depending on the type of layout? I've been working on a poster layout in InDesign in layers, and I've gotten stuck on one part (an element won't move from one layer to another) but that's most likely something i'm doing wrong.

I would say absolutely! Layer management is super crucial for any document; for this particular one I was just working on a simple 2 page layout and didn't want to bring any more complexity into it so just arranging was enough for me, but for a longer or more formal document I would definitely be categorizing everything in layers. For your issue, did you see if the element was locked or if you had another command active while trying to change layer? It's also common that you have to try and change the layer multiple times in InDesign as it's not as responsive as other programs like Illustrator in that regard.

I think i figured out where I'd gotten wrong. I hadn't been clicking on the right layer that activates the little blue box. Hence why it wasn't targeting my chosen element. Rookie mistake ^^@@lyh_studio
