thanks for the video, I had instructions and still couldn't work out to lift to put on the Bobbin/spool. It really is a gorgeous piece of craftsmanship, now I just have to actually use it 🙂

Thank you so much for this video I had no idea like you made a ball winder and a Swift, I have a set of liking needles which I love very much they are so nice to work with the quality is excellent and well worth it so I am not surprised that you are finding these likey products to be of high quality also I am definitely going to look into it I've been using a plastic winder and Swift and I really do not like the feel of the plastic I think that after watching your video I may just go out and treat myself. Great job keep those videos coming! 🥰👍

@@KnittingHouseSquare I gave it a good test run with 8 skeins! I absolutely love it! The wool winder I got is a plastic one that clamps to a table but I'll upgrade that to the same wooden Lykke one you've got when I have enough space to keep it. So far I've got Lykke cable knitting needles, Lykke double-pointed needles and the Lykke Swift ... does that make me biased? lol

I warrantied my first one because it wasn’t caking properly, and even my replacement one I find cakes really high on the post and is almost over the top. Any recommendations for how to set it up to ensure it winds properly?

I have this winder but haven’t successfully winded up a 4ply yarn cake. Any ideas? 😊 feel like I’ve tried everything.

Thank you for the review!! I have my eye on the yarn winder by lykke cause my current one can‘t handle big amounts of yarn. At the beginning you called it a „jumbo yarn winder“. Do you or anyone else know how much it can hold/handle? I tired to rewind a yarn cake of 4ply/250g with my current winder and that ended in an absolute tangly desaster; so that would be the minimum amount it would need to be able to handle, more would be ideal!!

That is a great question! I unfortunately do not know, as I have really only ever wound 100g skeins on it and I don’t have any bigger ones to test

Does the ball come out soft and squishy after winding? Or hard?

Hello Christine, I have found that I wind my yarn twice. Once from the skein to cake, then cake to another cake. I put the cake on spindle, let it spin to the baller.
