One man, one guitar and a killer song! It doesn't get any better.

Thanks so much for sharing this. It's amazing to think that at such an early age (college!!) Lyle had already written this classic.

You chose right to post it anyway. Yes, the video has deteriorated significantly, but the sound ... the sound! Getting to hear Lyle as he was when he was opening for Walter & Co. in College Station is amazing--which isn't to mention that it's a revelation to discover how _early_ he wrote some of his early-career standards.

From Canada... I went to a concert here in Victoria. Before that concert (it was a gift to my partner) I emailed someone involved with the tour to see if Mr. Lovett would perform 'Nobody knows me like my baby' at that concert. No guarantees were made, but Lyell did that song for his encore. The man is the classiest I've ever experienced. He made an effort to make my day. What else can you say about that?

It's so amazing how a song can float along for so many years & then bam it's a hit. But he was playing it for years before.

This is one of my favorites of Lyles. Puts on such a fantastic show! On the video with Nanci Griffith you said this was filmed in East Texas. What town? Just curious since I grew up near (not in) Texarkana, TX. And also lived briefly in Lufkin.
