Watching "The Last Picture Show" (1971) and this song comes to mind as the perfect companion to it.

One of my favorite song of all times. And the guitar solo (is it Ray Herndon?!?). And the steel guitar. Just beautiful. Thanks so much.

Lyle and Robert Earl Keen were roommates for a time at Texas A&M! REK opened for Lyle at Red Rocks a few years back. They teamed up to play "Amarillo Highway" by Terry Allen. So memorable! Cool to see that they're still on speaking terms.

Lyle is such a kind Man. Gave me Tickets to his Sold out show with Vince Gill. Such a great man.

The song was written by Robert Earl Keen. I have more info in the "about" tab just under the clip screen.

@ssprosup He plays Collings guitars...they're supposedly built using Martin "prewar" specs, though I've heard debate over this.

What is this performance from? Is there more of it somewhere?

Definitely not a Martin. Huss & Dalton? Great performance.
