NO it proves lack of moral character. The FACT he kept Donovan's license and wallet instead of giving it back is a crime in both CA and NJ. The FACT that he drove 2 hours away to purchase shotguns with Donovan's license and registered the shotguns in Donovan's name so they would not be traced back to the brothers is identity theft and proof of premeditation. The FACT he was driving around with Donovan's license proved he planned on using it for other illegal activity as well. PERHAPS if Lyle had just followed the law and stayed put in NJ instead of CHOOSING to be back in CA at his parents house NONE of this would have happened. You cannot buy a shotgun in CA with an expired license. Laws like that actually could have protected the parents from being killed by their sons.
