As far as the loaf grain it’s the kneading time. A trick for yeast breads is called a window pane test. So take a small piece off once you think you’ve kneading it long enough and stretch it between your fingers and if it can stretch to almost paper thin where you can see light coming through without the dough ripping it has been kneading long enough and the gluten has formed. If it doesn’t and it rips- knead it longer!!! Hope this helps!

Hey Lynette, I finally did a girlfriends trip to Holmes County last week for 4 days! First stop was for lunch at East Main Kitchen. Our waitress asked where were we from and I said near Lancaster, PA. I then said I heard about this place from watching KZbin and she said "oh from Lynette Yoder". I said "yes, I love her videos!" Then she said a lot of people come to eat here because of watching her videos. How awesome is that!

Hey Lynette! My sister and I just returned home from a week long stay at Carlisle Inn Walnut Creek as we do every year for my birthday which is tomorrow! We usually only stay 3/4 nights, but this year we got 5 nights!! We took our friends.. an old order Amish couple for their first time to East Main Kitchen! They loved it!!! We always go all because of you! lol we love those side winder fries lol. I found some treasures at all the thrifts stores and variety stores, especially Ruby’s! Please tell Jaxon that in New England we LOVE Gronk and are so pleased he loves playing in Tampa. And the grain of your bread is bigger perhaps because you over-proofed the loaves (let them rise too long). Proofing time depends on different ambient conditions. If you’re baking in air conditioning, cooler and less humid, you may need a different amount of time than what could be listed in a recipe.

Absolutely love your family and show. Your children are precious. I would love to go back to your age and have little ones. I had two boys and a girl. Each of my children have two children, a girl and boy. The youngest of my grandkids was adopted from Guatemala. He loves to cook. One other of my grandsons answered the call to preach a few months ago. I’m so proud of my whole family. We raised them in church and they’ve grown to be great parents and citizens. Feeling melancholy tonight. I know you enjoy your family and kids. It shows….. also with your husband. Love hearing him say grace. That’s what our country needs. Maybe someone will see the example you’re showing and eat at the table. Love Tuesday for your show.

Harper is adorable and Big sis is so loving of her. The boys are growing so fast. I thought your bread looked great. It is always hit and miss with bread but in the end it is always good. My mom was the expert. No kitchen aid back then. I suggest less to no oil should make it denser. You can replace oil with water or milk. When I do bread I just add water till it feels right by hand. Got your own sound garden in the pool area. Happy workers! Do Walnut Creek deliver to Canada?

I am no expert in making bread from scratch. I have a bread machine. My mother made homemade bread a lot. I'm thinking that maybe you need to knead the dough a bit longer. I'm not sure though. Oaklynn is so adorable. Kaden is growing up looking a lot like his dad and Jackson (Jaxon?) looks like you. Not sure about Harper yet, but she is so cute!

You have a beautiful family! The bread looks delicious. Nothing like warm homemade bread with butter!
@sheiladannelly61152 жыл бұрын
For your bread, you might want to knead it longer. In fact, after the first rise, and after cutting the sections, knead a bit before placing in pan. Bread can be very finicky and also is dependent upon weather. If it’s very damp, try adding a bit more flour. Also, hard wheat makes great bread! Sam’s Carries it.

After you punch your dough down and cut it into sections, get your rolling pin out and roll each piece into a large rectangle. Roll it hard so you get all the bubbles out. Then tightly roll your rectangle up as if you were making a cinnamon roll. Put it in your pans and if too long, tuck or roll the ends under. Let it raise until it is only 1 inch above the top of the pan. Now it's time to bake!

Don't let the bread rise quite as long on the second rising. Your bread should not have the "muffin top" over the side of the loaf pan after baked. Less rising time will prevent the loose crumb.
