I’m assuming they are scooping up DeLoreans wherever they can. 99 won’t come quickly however

I'll believe it when it's actually physically built. Th8s smells of a big scam, yet again. It'll be cheaper to buy an engine damaged, poor condition Delorean, and do your own custom conversion using Tesla components, like Vintage Voltage in the UK that have actually done the job.

A lot of folks weary about delorean scams because of the Alpha5 and they built one. This is easier because it’s essentially a conversion just very high end

So they are just buying up old DeLorean's turning them into electric vehicles and charging $299,000 USD ( that's about 175,000 more than is would cost to buy an old one with a blown motor and have it converted.) in the contract it states "Customer understands that achievement of production-ready status may not occur for several years" Definition of Several is more than 3, but less than Many. Non-refundable 10k deposit sounds too little in my opinion as to buy a barn find DeLorean and the EV motors and accessories would cost about 50-70 grand and a deposit is usually about 10% or retail. So I think people should be careful as it looks like a scam in my opinion.

@@DeLoreanTECH I`d go with swapping the Ioniq 5 N tech into a DeLorean... you got 600+ hp, 800v charging tech that display those, front lights maybe the rears oh and you have to transplant the front motor in there too... :):)

It doesn’t make sense to put 4 motors in a DeLorean unless they are in-hub motors with electronic throttle. That way you lose the engine, transmission, throttle linkage, half-shafts and fuel tank.

Hub motors for full size vehicles do not work. All the companies that have claimed or tried to use them, or tried to make them (Elaphe) have failed. They are fantastic for bikes, but do not work for full size vehicles. Someday, maybe - but it certainly isn't going to be this place that does it! The companies that do have 4-motor EVs (Rivian or Hummer, for example) - are using inboard motors with axle shafts.

@@BillCarlson Edison Motors was just in China and the company they are purchasing E-Axles from showed them in-hub motors for the front steering wheels in their Semi trucks.

Highly recommend everyone read the recent article in Wired about the dueling visions for the future of this car between DMC and a company part owned by John DeLorean's daughter. Personally I think hers is the better one (for one thing, it's gas powered).

Yes the Model JZD which I personally think is a great idea and a nod to the Aerovette. Would love to see that car become a reality one of these days.

100% scam. It's a scam. Do not put money into this company - the best case is that you get your money back, and I highly doubt that you will. I also guarantee that they have not "sold" half of these (meaning there has not been 50 people to put down $10k). It's a complete scam, they will never make a real car. If you want a DeLorean EV you could reach out to the people who own the ~20 or so, and I'm sure any of them would be happy to part ways with it for $300k. :D

Elon Musk should have bought the right to use Delorean Motor Co. name. and made stainless steel bodied, gull wing doored EV sports car. and not made that Model X with wing door.

let's be real here. the dmc12 could never be road legal today and even if it was, it would lose everything that makes it iconic. it will be so expensive that it would just be another speculative asset for rich people. i say this while writing from my family's mansion. even if it wasnt a scam, it would just be an expensive waste of matal.
