The ORIGINAL version played by ALLEN is a "Shred version", this just happens to be Sophie's version, and she did a great job!! But remember back 50 years ago, Allen was one of the OG's of the shredding world, and he WROTE the shred.

I'm of an age to have made a recording of Lynyrd Skynyrd playing this on the Old Grey Whistle Test. I used my Dad's reel to reel tape recorder and had the microphone dangling in front of the b & w telly's speaker. We played that live set over and over. Never for one moment thought that 50 years later I'd be watching a young english woman playing it with such skill and passion. Great stuff.

Loyd or Lloyd is a Welsh name, like Jones, Williams, Burton/Burden...call her British, if you will . BTW,the Sur Richard Burton who married London-born Elizabeth Taylor (her real name).. twice! Didn't speak English until he was 11.

I am usually VERY protective of this song...but you did really well with it. You gave this song the respect that it deserves, and kept true to the feel and authenticity of it. You chose not to junk it up with a bunch of bullshit that would have turned this real classic into just a weird caricature, and yet you still tastefully made it your own. I love this so much. More important than knowing how to play is feeling how it should be played, one can tell that you can do both. Thumbs up. Music should be felt, on your skin, in your stomach, in your heart at all times or else it´s just a shallow instrument of entertainment. Only if you feel it does it come alive and touch people where it matters.
