Johnny Van Zant is the only vocalist that fits the bill here. There's a real likeness between he and the great, late legend Ronnie Van Zant. All the guys playing above are superb. They still have that triple guitar heat and a great rhythm sound. Gary Rossington wouldn't allow any bum to play with them. The plane crash was so sad because they had just released Street Survivors album three days prior. I firmly believe that album would have catapulted Skynyrd right into the very big time. Thoughts to those gone but the music continues to boogie.

I wonder if Rickey ever called Johnny or someone in the band to let them know he needed a "JAY OH BEE" JOB, before Ed King left the band. Sure, Rickey looks the part of the bad ass guitar player and the band needed BALLS, but Ed King was the better player and fit for the band.
