An excellent find with that tantalum cap being shorted. I take it that the reorientation of those reversed IC's worked OK and were not fried? Great job on the repair Ron... WELL DONE!!! 10/10

They ended up working just fine when I put them back, I think because the Z80 doesn't get anything but 5v if you reverse it it's able to tolerate it. You're sending the clock signal somewhere weird but nothing gets overvoltage....

God Father's Pizza in Gresham Oregon had a Frogger back in the day. Very fond memories of that place and playing Frogger there in 1980 something! I just call it "UF". That's Cool! Thanks for the video Ron! Very cool fix!

I had the Sierra port for the venerable Commodore 64. I used a WICO Command and Control ball bat stick. I had it down to a fine art of hopping thru traffic, but those dunking turtles I had to watch out for.

Chips are usually orientated all the same way during manufacture, at least they were when i was a PCB builder. The indent printed on the PCB is there for a reason too.

Hello guys, can the reset line on the sub-logic pcb keep the reset line on the main pcb stuck? Mine is stuck in reset and every chip on the main pcb along the reset line is coming back good.

I have that game but is called MTX TOADO for a MTX512 computer and the unit is kapoot as the VDP overheated which resulted in the CPU overheating.

@@LyonsArcade Sorry the MTX512 is no longer around as the unit was unusable once the VDP+CPU went kapoot and I no longer have the AMSTRAD PC1512 as that was taken to the dump as it was taking space in the roofspace.

I have a frogger that has a bad circuit board, anyway I can send it to you for repair? Was having the same problem, no sound. Now the monitor is not coming on. Looks like it has transformer that has melted and corrupted the board. I would really appreciate the help!

Modern Re-releases of Frogger have all run into Copyright issues with the games original music and are forced to alter the games soundtrack because of this. Sega/Konami used the pieces of copyrighted music without licencing them . the first tune for example was taken from the Japanese children's song " Inu no Omawari san" or " The Dog Policeman" kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3fFZHqnmqiNaKc its just not frogger without the original music .. Arcade 1up's release is one core example of this issue ..

That left opening was always my weak spot, I was never good at the game. I wasn’t good at many of the games come to think of it. The arcade I go to has Frogger and I play it just to see if I get any better. Nope.

The trick with the left cave is to go for it first, if you run into difficulty you can always change plans and use another cave. That way you're not stuck with the left cave being your only option.
