I was there and I smile everyday remembering lyre camp. Whilst I cant return next year I will again. This enhanced my learning and have made friends for life. A profound experience and wonderful hospitality.

@@SEIKILO You are very right! Of all the arts, music is the most subtle kind... We can't touch it like a sculpture or see it like a painting, but... Music overcomes any obstacles! Brevity is not my sister🙏🙂❤🩹

What is the wonderful music playing on this video? I play piano but I love this lyre and ancient music. Amazing site you have here, thank you for the pleasure it brings!

Thank you for listening, Zoe, and for your beautiful comment! The first song, around the 1-minute mark, is the “Seikilos Epitaph,” the oldest extant complete song from ancient Greece that includes both lyrics and melody! It is performed by the wonderful Thanasis Kleopas, whom you can see later in the video as well. More videos like this premiere on our channel every week, so subscribe here to stay tuned: kzbin.info

I was wondering if there would be a comprehensive video on the 2024 summer camp. This is great and I really love the detail everyone put into it and just hearing from everyone!

Thanks for the comment, James. It was an amazing experience for all of us, fast-pacing our lyre-kithara-phorminx playing in just one week. We hope to meet in person in one of our future lyre summer camps!
