It's absolutely amazing to be able to watch this side by side with the video of Rachel and Kurt singing Defying Gravity from Season 1 (I think). Not only does it show how their voices have developed but also their characters, confidence and personalities. I know Kurt sang higher notes in the original version but that was because he needed to purposely botch the high note at the end. However, in this version, I feel like even though he sounds lower, his stage presence has improved so much it doesn't even matter. Besides, this sing off was more between Rachel and Mercedes to see who was the better of the two because we all know Kurt's already the best of them all. :)

Glee needs to give this song more justice. The first Defying Gravity was epic but Kurt blewing it off for his dad kind of gave it away. The second one was also epic, but like, they could do better than that. It makes me wonder what it would be like if they used that song to compete to the nationals in season 1, that would've given them the spot without a doubt.
