My jaw dropped when you submerged the ENTIRE COACH PURSE under water using Dawn dish detergent! That takes guts!!! That's one way to get a purse clean! I find your simple no nonsense approach mesmerizing and refreshing.

I love seeing you doing the exact things I've done for years to salvage purses, shoes, etc! Clean, hydrate, dry, polish, and brush! Saving fashion from landfills! Fantastic job! Looking forward to more videos!

Shoe polish is not made for handbags. You can use leather dye instead. It won't damage the bag..

I have this bag in black, green, tan and red. it is the perfect bag every time I find it in a different color at the Goodwill I buy it regardless of the condition. Now I know how to make them even more beautiful. Thank you.

I was helping my grandma clean her closet earlier and found a coach bag from the 70s on the floor under a pile of shoes. I’ve never restored one so I’m glad I found your video.

Great job! I love me some Willis, and have the exact bag which I adore! Same rub areas, but I clean and condition only. You went above and beyond to restore that bag and it'll last a long time yet! A testament to a gorgeous product made by a superior company. Keep up the good work!

Several questions as I have a couple old black Coach bags to restore: 1) Why do you use the Saphir Cordovan on black bags but their 1925 Creme on the brown bags? 2) Does the color you brush onto the edges "rub off"? 3) Is the color permanent or is this something you have to do often? 4) Do you also rub the conditioner on the edges you brushed the polish on? Why or why not? Thanks in advance!

I have this bag. It’s 21 years old and could use some TLC ❤️. It’s a great bag. Thank you for showing us how to restore rather than replace all the time.

She's not restoring it properly. Show polish should not be used on a bag. Use leather dye instead.

A very clear, detailed and helpful video on how to restore those Coach leather bags! Almost feel like an ASMR video without the taking haha. I would love to see how you restore lighter color leather bags if possible. Great work and editing for a first video! Nice hands by the way. 😊 Thank you very much!

Someone forgot to pick it out to send to Goodwill's Auction Store! Employees are required to send anything of high or luxury value here. CEO needs a pay cut as Goodwill's prices are in competition with Walmart! Ridiculous Prices Every Day

Dawn is AWESOME isn' it?. I do the same things to my bags but using the front loading washing machine. I use dawn in place of shampoo clarifier. Hair is squeaky clean. Anyway the bag looks alive again.....just awesome 😊...

You did such a beautiful job. I just bought a vintage bag exactly the same as this one. Haven’t received it yet. Looks good in the pictures. But I would be so afraid to put it in water the way you did. I’ll see the shape when I get it. Thanks for this video.

I did exactly this with a similar age/ shape bag, the court bag. This glovetanned leather is completely robust honestly , just dry it without direct heat and nourish afterwards. I prefer Bickman 4.

Really wonderful results! I love Saffir leather product. What is the bracelet on the hand strap used for?
@MsBizzyGurl3 жыл бұрын
Coach uses a bead chain to attach their label. I usually take it off and put it in the small interior pocket.
@Truth15613 жыл бұрын
I think maybe it was to keep the strap forwards? I wondered that as well.
@Diva9000x3 жыл бұрын
That "bracelet" is a purse hanger. You can hang your bag from the hand strap of the edge of a tabletop, bar, back of a wooden or metal chair, etc. It keeps your bag off the floor since it doesn't have feet on the bottom.

What do you recommend for a tan color bag with stains? Thnx for the video.
@Truth15613 жыл бұрын
If they are well set in it’s virtually impossible to remove them. They should be tackled fresh. They may lighten with a clean however. If they are oily, applying. Corn starch, leaving for 24 hrs, brush off and repeat as necessary can help. You can also a tan coloured shoe cream to even the colour out. I use Collanil Mandel on my tan bags. Always try to get slightly lighter than your bag.

I just thrifted the same bag but it brown. I wiped with saddle soap and will wipe it gently with a cotton towel and water to rinse the soap. Is it way better for the leather to immerse the whole bag and wash with the soap you used?
@LyssaMakesNew2 жыл бұрын
Depends! I usually submerge mine because they smell. If yours doesn’t smell/isn’t grimy on the inside, it’s up to you whether to give it a full wash 😊

Why did you add that ring to the top of the bag? What does that do?
@loriadams77243 жыл бұрын
The thing that looks like a bracelet, is actually a purse hanger. You can use it to hang your purse on the table, rather than setting your bag on the dirty floor.

I just “spoke” with a store that restores all leather objects (they sell the products not the service) She was saying leather polish will transfer to other objects i.e., your clothing, while the bag is being worn. Have you found this to be true? I wouldn’t think you’d continue to use leather polish if that’s the case.

The polish will make the leather supple and shiny when you buff it. The renovateur won’t have as much shine, but will still moisturize like a beast 😊
