Listen m57 don't have safety when it come from factory but when pistol goes in America they need to set safety. I am from Serbia and I saw a lot of this guns , also Russian TT don't have this slide you can Google and see how is that. If you want more information about this gun you can go on Chanel dum dum it's Serbian chanel but every video have subtitles they record all zastava Pistols and TT also. Greetings for all of you and i feel really nice because people like zastava guns .

@@CACTICALMAIN laws in Serbia are fucked up we can't carry weapons we can shoot only shooting range and we are one of two country that pays taxes for weapons. It really sucks and hunters make petitions to make weapon law better

Yes, Zastava does make a nice firearm. Got an M-70 AKM last year and just ordered an M57, new production with the slide-mounted safety. Now if only I could find reasonably priced ammo for it...

@@TheRobman139 make sure you buy rubber or wooden grip for pistol it is very comfortable and you have better aim. Also you can buy compensantor he gives very nice look to the pistol and your recoil is little smaller which is very good because 7,62x25 is very hot round. Greetings from Serbia 😊

Why would you not carry this with one in the pipe? I just ordered an M57 - new production with the slide-mounted safety - and am considering it as an alternative carry gun (“winter carry” OWB). If I did this I would definitely want one in the chamber. I would either go “locked and cocked” with the thumb safety or use the half cock feature as originally designed (I’m a lefty so the thumb safety might be awkward, but I might figure out a way to adapt...been doing that all my life with right-handed firearms). Love the round; surprised it isn’t more popular. I consider this pistol to be an ideal platform for “sheepdog” duty at a church or synagogue against an active shooter threat.

I EDC a M57, always one in the chamber, full cock with the rear frame mounted saftey engaged, so that way all i have to do is release the saftey as i am drawing the firearm,quick and easy. The amount of time it takes to pull the firearm plus having to rack it could be your life. You could also leave the saftey off and leave it on halfcock and as you are drawing the firearm bring to full cock much quicker than having to rack it. very safe and reliable firearm and i see no reason not to carry 9+1 (one in the chamber) if done correctly. cheers and happy shooting. I too absolutely love this round, the cost has become an issue compared to more common rounds, it used to be priced same as 9mm but those times are long gone it seems, but one must be careful carrying as an EDC as over penetration is very possible, less likely with hollow points, but do to todays ammo situation it wouldnt be uncommon for one to be stuck with only FMJ, making the shooter to be extra midful while aquiring targets, not to shoot the people/person behind it/them.

The original design was never meant for a "cocked and locked" option. The safeties were added to meet ridiculous import requirements and the safeties are trash. Just a heads up before carry one of these models and relying on the after-thought manual safeties.

@@kevinblanchard6652 For the milsurps you are correct, but the M57A was made specifically for the American market and the slide-mounted Beretta-style safety is pretty good, and is linked to a firing pin block when engaged. You can safely carry the new-build M57As cocked and locked.

I have the Yugo and I removed the safety lever which makes a world of difference in trigger pull. My gun is also a range gun so I never Conceal it. Buy a extra Yugo recoil spring and put it in the Romanian model.

Sir plz tell me 3 points i have old Chinese tt pistol model M-20 which is magazine rounds capacity seven rounds or 08 ? 2nd it's barrel life means how can rounds fired. 3rd if i have it's magazine full loaded one or two year's its magazine spring will be lose or not ? Plz Rply me

Actually the Chinese model is superior. It is an exact copy of the Russian model tt33. The Chinese version does not have that horrendous safety that is Drilled into the side of the gun.

If imported into the US, it WILL have a safety, of some sort. US import restrictions make this mandatory. Best options are the trigger blade safety (replace with an OE trigger) or slide safety (just remove and use appropriate AM grips to cover the hole.
