Perché le libertà che vengono prese, negli ornamenti e nelle variazioni ... un grande cantante ha anche il diritto di essere creativo. Alcuni lo rifiutano perché lo considerano "obsoleto" e non idoneo per il gusto attuale. E cosa mi importa di quel gusto attuale e che esclude altri stili di canto? Ma è anche molto attuale. Se mi piace, è già attuale ... o è che io non sono "attuale"?

The greatest baritone there ever was. Make sure you read Jacques Chuilon's book, which is the definite study on the great "King of Baritones". The voice was HUGE, very colorful, he could sing very vocalizing repertoire as well as dramatic, and was a great actor. Thank you!

How fortunate are we to have recordings by this favourite of Verdi, Tchaikowski, Wagner...his fame and popular impact, just as Patti, was the same as the Beatles or Madonna today. People would fight for his photos and riot for his concert tickets.

I love the description you provided. It makes sense he was a a great singing actor. His phrasing has so much personality and yet is so in style and accurate to the music. He is very similar to Callas in this way. Similar phrasing too. She was also a great singing actress. And yes I also agree that with such great singing musical actors like Battistini opera has potential to create even more vivid characters on stage than classical acting bc of the singing and music.

La vidéo fonctionne très bien pour moi, mais il faut savoir qu'il est en deux parties. Il ya une rupture de son, 3:03-3:11. C'est-à-dire, entre le récitatif «Ah, per sempre io ti perdei," et l'aria "bel sogno Beato." Si tel est le problème, juste le laisser continuer à jouer, de l'un à l'autre.
