Does anyone else notice first shot at the stag ricochet and strike the trees at 1.27 some 20 ft and about 1 o'clock above the stag this goes to show the importance of a safe backstop and just what a bullet can and does do very educational video.
Good shooting and to butchery, cangrats, well done.5* my friend.

+waikarimoana The first shot seemed like flying over the body. 270Win 130gr by IMR4895 46gr seemed like making even flatter trajectory than expected. Thank you!

+kamphwagon1 With all due respect to your opinion the second shot hit the deer well and it is normal motion of heart and long shot. We have shot a Rusa deer in New Caledonia with a 270 Win and 140g projectile at a distance of 190 meters and he ran over 450 meters down hill before dropping to the ground and when we open it up there was a whole in the heart the size of thumb right through it. Off-course this is exceptional case but hart and lung shot dose not necessarily means a drop like neck shots. The best way to know ,would have been to see the entry wound. Hope you don't take it wrongly no offence intended just another view to look at.

+kamphwagon1 If we assume the film clip is not reversed in the editing, the the wound you mentioned is on the true left hand side of the body and that means an exit wound. He was shot on the right side. It is hard to accept that wound as an ""exit"'wound because during the time that the back-straps are taken out "" From 3.40 to over 6.40,over 3 minutes""and the body is moving there is not a single drop of leakage is visible for the cut in the skin. During the roar a lot of deer get wounded by fights, which could be a reason for the wound or some thing ells, but as an exit wound, the sharp and lack of leakage tends to be point to a none projectile wound. It is a bit unfair to call some one Novice without watching his videos, when we know he is good at his game. As for us,at waikarimonan, well mate, all 3 of us has worked as a culler and professional hunters most of our lives and collectively we have our 90 years of hunting under our belts. Maybe someone ells could give their opinion and shed light on the subject and if we are wrong, then our humble apology.
