She has a harsh, raspy quality to the high notes of her voice. But instead of being abrasive or overbearing, she rocks that raw, rough energy in a super lush, feminine fashion, and it balances out her sweet, soft voice through the rest of the song. Love her and the song. There are pieces and parts and poses and sounds and such that take me back to Patti Smith and her "Wave", especially "Dancing Barefoot" and the much earlier cover of Gloria on Horses and just Patti in general. Mo/ seems to have so much poetry inside that's struggling to get out IMHO. Patti came out in a great time. Not as "easy" now. Hope she continues finding her unique "voice" and breaks some of the real or imagined bonds that seem to be restraining her at times. Let loose Muh! Goddess in training coming through!
