Wow, thank you for your kind words. Yes it was similar to places like Swindon and Crewe, but on a slightly smaller scale. Now you wouldn`t know there had ever been a railway there.

Thank you so much for another lovely video. My gran lived at Briston so I walked all the four routes from Melton constable many times in the 1970s. Loved the picture of the flying pig coming off the lynn line into Melton. Just wish you has detailed film of some of the corpusty/Melton section I knew so well, would have loved some ‘todays views’ of those bits.

Thank you for your comments. I think the problem with the section you mention was access and parking. But if you go on Google maps and you use `street view` you can get an idea of what remains now.

Another very interesting video. I made a visit to Melton Constable,must have been around 1969-70 time and I remember the platform was still there.
@nutmeg50324 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. As you saw in the video there are some old buildings, but I think the platform is long gone. I didn`t see one but once I was actually there I did slightly lose my bearings.
@bryannewman50124 жыл бұрын
@@nutmeg5032 yes I think the platform was demolished soon after my visit some 50 years ago. The loco works buildings were featured on an Anglia’s Bygones programme which aired around about that time.

@@bryannewman5012 Thanks for that. I`m going to look at the Nth Walsham to Mundesley line next, but probably not until the new year.

Also could you possibly be able to do a video on North Walsham to Cromer beach via Mundesley as my Grandad used to work on that line😊
@nutmeg50324 жыл бұрын
I am interested in exploring another line, and that is one I was thinking about, but I will have to do some research first. If I do decide to do that line it would not be finished until some time in the new year. But thanks for the suggestion.
@grahamwarnes71474 жыл бұрын
Nutmeg50% that would be fantastic! Personally in my opinion the Mundesley line should still be here. I don’t see the purpose of North Walsham to Cromer via Gunton it serves no purpose. Mundesley to Cromer beach closed in 1953. Mundesley to North Walsham closed in 1964. My grandad is 92 and lives in one of the railway terraced houses in Mundesley in front of the old line
@nutmeg50324 жыл бұрын
@@grahamwarnes7147 Yes I agree, a lot of lines were closed that we now regret. I think the Gunton line had the advantage of being a direct link to Norwich. I will look out for the railway houses in Mundesley when I eventually go there. Thanks for the information.

Mundesley station is now Warren Drive. The railway terraced houses are on church lane where the line ran behind them. The only thing left of Mundesley station is the clock which is situated on a gable end bungalow on Warren drive. Overstrand station is still in situe which is now a private house. Hope this helps
