The rules and agreement should have been signed before his employment. If he disagreed to the non payable break time, he should not sign his agreement, and should not start his part time work there. I have been working for my full time job for over 25 years, I do not get paid for my lunch break, and I understood when I signed my employment agreement, no complained.

It sucks that happened to him however....he signed a very common agreement that most company world wide uses regarding the use of social media for work related issues...you already voice your opinion and they came to you and listen yet you choose to break the agreement you signed. I just think there are better way to resolve this.
