If I am working on a classified case and I got caught for speeding, I'll need to talk to your supervisor depends on their security clearances or your supervisor can talk to my handler. Definitely not acting like that guy, no matter what, you have to have mutual respect towards other department or units.
In 1992, my wife and I were driving from Las Vegas back home to the Bay Area. At a down slope of the mountain range on HWY 99, I was doing 85. I saw a red convertible sports car zoomed by me at a speed of 100 mile + minimum. There were 3 young people in that car, two men and one woman, all blondes, and the driver was the young woman. Immediately following that speeding car, a State Trooper rushed by me with its siren on. The cop ordered me to pull over and follow him on a loud speaker. I slowed down and saw the cop caught up the red car in the distance. I stopped behind the Trooper's car and wondered what penalty would be for my speeding. Moments later, the cop finished talking with the red car and let it go. I was very scared to see the cop walking towards my car and prayed for God not being fined too much. The cop was an old gentleman in his 50s. He told me that the people in the red car were Secret Service on a mission to California. He said "This is your lucky date since I let them go. You're off the hook, but you must slow down on a curve road like this for your own safety." "YES SIR" I said, and was so relieved with gratitude. I've remembered this old police professional with much appreciation since until today.
