من روميات أبي فراس الحمداني
صدى راجع. شارع واسع في الصدى
خطى تتبادل صوت السعال, وتدنو
من الباب, شيئاً فشيئاً, وتنأى
عن الباب. ثمة أهل يزوروننا
غداً, في خميس الزيارات. ثمة ظل
لنا في الممر. وشمس لنا في سلال
الفواكه. ثمة أم تعاتب سجاننا:
لماذا أرقت على العشب قهوتنا يا
شقي؟ وثمة ملح يهب من البحر,
ثمة بحر يهب من الملح. زنزانتي
اتسعت سنتيمتراً لصوت الحمامة: طيري
إلى حلب, يا حمامة, طيري بروميتي
واحملي لابن عمي سلامي!

للصدى. للصدى سلم معدني، شفافية, وندى
يعج بمن يصعدون إلى فجرهم... وبمن
ينزلون إلى قبرهم من ثقوب المدى...
خذوني إلى لغتي معكم! قلت:
ما ينفع الناس يمكث في كلمات القصيد
وأما الطبول فتطفو على جلدها زبدا
وزنزانتي اتسعت, في الصدى, شرفةً
كثوب الفتاة التي رافقتني سدى
إلى شرفات القطار, وقالت: أبي
لا يحبك. أمي تحبك. فاحذر سدوم غدا
ولا تنتظرني, صباح الخميس, أنا لا
أحب الكثافة حين تُخبئ في سجنها
حركات المعاني, وتتركني جسداً
يتذكر غاباته وحده ... للصدى عرفة
كزنزانتي هذه: غرفة للكلام مع النفس,
زنزانتي صورتي لم أجد حولها أحدا
يشاركني قهوتي في الصباح, ولا مقعدا
يشاركني عزلتي في المساء, ولا مشهدا
أشاركه حيرتي لبلوغ الهدى.
فلأكن ما تريد لي الخيل في الغزوات:
فإما أميراً
وإما أسيراً
وإما الردى!
وزنزانتي اتسعت شارعاً شارعين. وهذا الصدى
صدى, بارحاً سانحاً, سوف أخرج من حائطي
كما يخرج الشبح الحر من نفسه سيدا
وأمشي إلى حلبٍ. يا حمامة طيري
بروميتي, واحملي لابن عمي

(Those poems where called Romiat which means literally to do with Romans because they where written while he was in a Roman Prison as a war prisoner)
