I remember that 2011 World Cup so clearly!! Every child, adult, elders, just EVERYONE in India, every person was watching it!! You could find no one just roaming in the streets that day!! I never enjoyed cricket, I was 11 LOL!! My whole family, even my sister who was 9 at that time, was watching it together with full focus and utter silence. It was so quiet. Everyone was having HIGH HOPES with Sachin. Tendulkar was a big name even a new born would know haha~ When he got out at such a low score, people lost hope! I remember the mood went so down... It was like "alright it's over"~ BUT THEN!! Dhoni entered the field and HE MADE A HISTORY THAT DAY!! He turned all the disappointment into a new found hope!! I wasn't that much into it... But when I heard all that commotion of India still having a chance and all those loud cheers for Dhoni, I felt so intrigued that I came and sat down quietly in front of the TV to watch the match~ The chills... I still remember those chills, that feeling, that heartbeat increasing with every second... I remember it all so clearly!! And when we won, it was just such an incredible feeling that can never be explained in words!! Even as a child, I felt like I'm witnessing a GRAND moment that'll go down in history! I felt how lucky I am to witness it in real time!! Incredible!! So if you had seen Amir Khan in between then no doubt he too came to the stadium to watch and enjoy World Cup. It's true that Dhoni is a legend cricketer with down to earth personality. But whatever cricketer name you had heard are really world famous. Especially Sachin is a god of cricket ( dhoni had a poster of him in his childhood and Priyanka was asking for autograph of) for 40 years. Dhoni is actually much better in his wicketkeeping, he's one of the best WC of all times, if not the best already. 3. This movie is very emotional and loved by everyone. Sushant had to learn Dhoni's game playing tactics . Dhoni is one of the few cricketers who is exceptionally great at wicket keeping, also he is known to invent the 'helicopter shot' , a very unique way of swinging the bat, sushant learnt this too. It wasn't just about acting, it was about playing the game similar to dhoni. You should check some of the IPL footage that will show you how much dhoni is loved, actually he is worshipped. Loved your review as always and I really love how you remember small details, the commentator in the matches was definitely the driver from the jab we met. I request you to watch Byomkesh Bakshi - stars Sushant Singh Rajput and it is again a spectacular performance by Sushant. In fact the movie Byomkesh Bakshi comes in the top 10 list of all the murder mysteries/detective movies ever made in Bollywood. Sushant plays Byomkesh Bakshi who is a well known fictional character - India's Sherlock Homes and sushant has played him exceptionally well. Please watch it, it's totally different from drishyam n andhadhun.

Fun Fact! The one who Dhoni lost his chance from securing a place in the under 19 team, was Yuvraj Singh, and he ended up being the one playing by Dhoni's side in the cricket World Cup. Today, MS Dhoni is looked upon as one of the legends of the game after Sachin Tendulkar. Again another easter egg in the movie.

I remember when i newly joined twitter and i commented "you enter the theatres as a fan of ms dhoni and come out also being a fan of sushant singh rajput" and he liked my tweet 🥺 i should still have the screenshot somewhere i think. It wasn't a cameo ,Aamir Khan had actually gone to watch the real world cup and he was also wearing his lucky charm t-shirt so that India could win, and many Indian celebrities had gone to watch, so in this movie they were showing the real footages of the Cricket World Cup , 2011 , the year when India won for the 2nd time after 1986, and MS Dhoni was the captain that time of the Indian Men's Cricket Team .
