When you really really understand the Crue….you realize that Nike had the dream BUT Mick was the holder of the map, the wiseman on the mountain, the oracle, the keeper of the ring…but most of all the Puppet Master He had the name. He had the experience. He had the skills. He was able to mesh with Nikki, someone described by the entire LA scene as hardheaded, arrogant, barely able to play bass. All of a sudden all of that raw talent starts to become molded into a productive songwriting machine. Mick, who played bass early in his career, helped moved a bassist who had a poor sense of timing and played straight 8s or similar bass lines into someone who played strong, simple lines with interesting fills to keep the listener interested. Most importantly, Mick was one of those rare individuals who can get loud-mouth, hardheaded people to do his bidding without them realizing it and not needed if to take credit for it. The truly egoless man.

Thank you so much for this. I have been curious about the bass line for this song for a very long time. The way you have the tab presented in big clear numbers is excellent. Playing is bass is still a goal.

Yes. In a lot of songs he does scale stuff and sorts of things like that. Most noticeably in same Ol situation, right before the solo, and in Take Me To The Top in the first verse

No, never! He is allergic to those strings. He took them right off his bass.

Paul please do this.. and Paul please do that and cover this one too and yes that one two.. and so on and so fourths and fifths... All we do is ask.... But just wanted to say thank u from all of us... Two things prompted me to subscribe to your channel... The Dirt Motley Crue bass tabs... Your online streaming bass makes it easy and doable... I can't call myself a bassist and definitely not a Bass-Sixx... But even though Niki wasnt a technical player as he focused on the band, lyrics , stage showmanship... He played just enough and covered duties on bass... The lines n fills r fun to play and Primal Scream Take Me To The Top Dr Feelgood and others r kick ass enough... This band was dark n that explains their drop tunings..else it would have been any other LA band.. Thank u once again
