I own a Winchester M1 with an early stock and bolt. My rear sight has a shield with the letter H inset. (?) My front sight has no markings at all but is a type 3.

Type 3 will have a casting mark vertically through the middle on the left and right side, if so its a replacement.

I have an S'G' M1 Carbine with an underwood barrel but the front sight is a type 2 and unmarked. Do you know if that would be correct for an S'G' or who made them?

That would be incorrect. They stopped making S'G' carbines end of Dec 1943. They only used type I front sights. Hard to find S'G' front sight but then thats the cool part, seeking the necessary parts.

I have an Inland 7-43 and would like to know what direction the front sight pin is to be driven to remove. Thanks for the help.

It goes in from either way but there may be a side which has lighter staking, use that side to get the pin out.

I have 3, 2 inlands and a Winchester. I am replacing the front sights on all of them. The reason being the loser Europeans. They liked to sight them in with a belt hold, not too good for accuracy. One inland I drifted the pin left to right and the next was right to left. I haven't done the Winchester yet and may not since it is mostly Winchester parts.

I’m new to the m1 carbine. My front sight is marked J-Q on an underwood 8-43 barrel with a Quality Hardware receiver. What can you tell me about the front sight markings.

Subcontractor for QHMC, it is what it should be!! Same with the barrel.

Thank you sir. The trigger group is inland with the hammer dog leg being marked K-2. Is that Rock-Ola? Others are no important stamps. Could this be a parts gun or is it the way things were back in the day. Thanks again!
