Love the M1 Garand, I own a few, one of my all time favorite rifles. Looks like you have a weak spring either the main spring or the clip latch spring would be my guess. The empty Enbloc clips should kick out with enough force to clear the action entirely and fall away from the gun. I was wondering what is the Manufacturer of your M1 Garand, WWII era Springfield Armory or Winchester, or is it Korean War era Springfield, H&R Arms, or International Harvester?

one of the first rifles my parents had me on, upon being an adult . . . once that ping went off at the range, people would come and check it out . . . i remember my grandfather and my dad took their garands, my brother came along (AR). They had helo door gunner armor plate, this russian combat shield (a riot shield but built for rifle), and lvl 4 armor. Only the M1 with AP would punch through the armor and regular 30-06 had the most deformation, while the 5.56 had zero deformation and 7.62 had mosquito bite deformation.

I have never had the pleasure of shooting the M1 Garand...yet. 1st time I even saw and heard one up close was last year at my shooting range. Guy already in the shooting house was firing one. I could hear it roar from the parking lot. As I entered the shooting house with ears and eyes on, I couldn't believe the concussion that thing put out. Just walking up behind him at @ 12 feet away when he pulled the trigger, the concussion hit me hard enough to make me stop in my tracks for a moment. Standing on the line beside him was intense to be sure. I cant imagine what the soldiers on the front lines felt with dozens of them shooting at the enemy.
@KirstenJoyWeiss7 жыл бұрын
YES. Its unique really. I have a 30-06 Belgium browning, and while I love it... its just not the same as the m1. Even though the M1 shoots lighter loads!! The garand just feels so solid, formidable and tangible.

I'll have to do a side by side comparison of which rifle does the best at taking down Nazi pumpkins, the Garand or the Mosin Nagant (I might have to see if I can get a Lee Enfield ... just so that all the major Allied powers are duly represented). @ericcartrette61187 жыл бұрын
I would love to own an M-1. Really cool rifles. Funny story about grenades though. When I was in basic training pushing 30 years ago, I remember the grenade range. We threw two live grenades then went out to throw inert grenades at trucks and other targets. I had landed all of my throws perfectly. The last throw at the last target was beautiful! I put it in the bed of a 5-ton dump truck like I was supposed to. But my First Sergeant was standing there watching me. He asked, "Did you sidearm that grenade, Private?" Sidearm was NOT the proper Army way. I said, "I don't know First Sergeant. I don't think so." I didn't want to give up such a nice throw as that. He said, "Yeah, Private, you sidearmed it. Throw it again." (Dang it!) Well, the good news is that I stuck the second throw too. But I've always had better success hitting a target when I throw sidearmed.
