That Leitner rack is the same one I have on my Ram 3500. And I was wondering if I could put it on the M1102 I just bought. What a coincidence...and it answered a big question I had about whether I could use the rack on the trailer. Like you did! What a great find, your video. Thanks.
@davidisinmn Жыл бұрын
Did you try it yet? I’m curious exactly which rack they have a ton on their website. This guy barely replies 😢
@rscow Жыл бұрын
@@davidisinmn yep. I got the rack adapted to the trailer. I’ve taken it on two short trips and it has all hung together. There were some non destructive mods. And I had to source longer cross pieces. Dang trailer is wide.

That is an awesome mil trailer! I have an M410 with a rooftop tent, 12 gallon water tank and pump with lines that can discharge from the front and the rear of the trailer, LED lights on all four sides and I’m still trying to figure out what I can add to it next! Gotta ask... what is the exact name of that gray? I’d love that color!

Well done! I like how you incorporated the storage pods from the Leitner rack to house all of your controls and systems, pretty nifty. Do you ever carry a RTT on the trailer as well?

I love that blueish color on the trailer, is that something custom or do you have a name? I want to get a m1102, I have a humvee so it would be the best accessory for me.

What did you use to attach the rack to the trailer? Did Leitner give you any grief about ordering the extended cross bars? What rack exactly did you order that fit it? Were there any extra fabrication steps that you had to take to make it work?
@jonnynoll11532 жыл бұрын
Its bolted to the rails. I was the first to talk Leitner into sending me 7' bars that I could cut to my specs. But they won't do it anymore so people are using 80/20 or other crossbar material.
@brokenrockadventures9 ай бұрын
I just ordered 3 of the longest bars they make. 84 inches, paid 100 each for them, non powdercoated. Will be here in 3 days.

Hey could you possibly do a slightly more in-depth video of the way you mounted that rack? I just bought a 2008 M1101 and am wanting to put the ACS Forged rack on it. A better idea of how/where you mounted it would be super helpful.

Awesome trailer! With the addition of the 80/20 7' bars, do you think it would be strong enough for a rooftop tent if I used four?
@evankenville43322 жыл бұрын
I had a custom rack fabricated that aligned with the canopy holes, 2" steel tubing. Holds a big roof top tent with my son and I which makes up a heavy load no problem :)

When you took off the big military wheels, is there a market for them? Humvee owners or something? Wondering if this can offset the cost of switching over to regular wheels and what is involved.

Nice build. But damn get a hot tent and portable stove. Glamping doesn’t build character or make people tougher. This whole going into the “backcountry” and needing all these comforts seems lame. Technology brings all the soft ones to the beautiful places lately. If you can’t be a little cold in the wilderness then get a hotel and leave it for folks that actually want to be there.

Just a heads up KZbin is monetizing your channel and making money off of it. you don’t have enough watch hours nor subscribers but ads keep playing under the new KZbin policy they have the right to make money on it until your able to monetize.
