With the brackets cleaning, when i rebuilt my m104 i sprayed them all with degreaser and then blasted them with the pressure washer. They came up like new (at the cost of me being sprayed head to toe in greasy water 🤣 )

Luckily we have several parts washers at work that get to about 160 degrees F. They work pretty well. Although throughout the process I did get my fair share of being blasted with grease, dirty and oil.

Everything looks good !! Hopefully the chicks are totally digging what you're doing with this rebuild. Those insulator caps behind the distributor cap and rotor are highly overlooked, and many many of my members have found them the difference between a good runnign and poor running engine. So, I am glad you are getting them. They are available only either from MB, or from Bosch as a red aftermarket part. The MB caps and rotors or the Beru caps and rotors are highly recommended. The caps and rotors from Bremi and Bosch and only of mediocre quality. Doduco makes the MB caps/rotors and until recently the Beru units as well. In fact the Beru rotors I used on my rebuild last year had the MB star and part number ground off. They were known as Beru EVL-187 but now have been superseded to another part made by another manufacturer for Beru.

Hi! Thanks for all your effort put to those videos about m119. They are very helpful and it is very much appreciated! Can you please tell what exactly is that orange sealant? I am currently replacing my water pump on the same engine and I would like to use the same sealant for the bolts. Thanks 👍🏻

You're very welcome! That sealant is no longer available and I haven't the foggiest clue what would be comparable. I'm sure one of the many Loctite Thread sealants would be comparable. Might have to look on BenzWorld or the E500Eboard for verification. Just make sure you don't use thread locker.

Hello there naighbour, Thanx for the information about the m119 engine👍 I got a question,i do own a E50 AMG with this engine with 483.000 km on it. And i also bought a broken engine with a broken chainholder(what makes it tighter) and the guy where i bought it say'd to me it got broken wheb the car was in neutral stationair. Can you tell me if its easy or worthy to fix this engine?
@FriendlyMBTech3 жыл бұрын
Hello! If the chain tensioner is not working and there isn't any internal engine damage then replacing the tensioner should fix it and is fairly simple to replace.
