M120 Timing Chain Installation

Installing the timing chain on the M120 V12. There are different ways to install the timing chain depending on the level of disassembly of the engine. These are the instructions for when your engine was completely disassembled. Also, we go over installing the oil pump.

You're very welcome! The cams are pinned in position with the 4mm pins. Once the front cover is installed and the tensioner is installed, then the cam position can be verified after rotating the engine. That will be one of the next steps.

nicely done! do you know on top of your head if the engine rubber mounts are the same for left and right side?? those for sale on internet sure looks same on both sides

@@farerse yeah V12s are far from the easiest to work on. A lot of repairs are engine-out jobs.

Would you know how I can get the v12 to Rev higher than 6k? Like the Paginhi Zonda Revs at 9,200K (same engine)

You'd have to change almost everything to handle spinning that fast. You'd need to balance evey piece of the rotating assembly down to the gram so it doesn't vibrate itself apart. The valve train will have to be upgraded, dual valve springs etc so it doesn't float a valve. The intake will have to be custom in order to allow the required air flow at that RPM, ITBs would probably be easiest. Engine will need to be run on custom software as well. I'm sure there are many more changes that will need to be made as well.
