I'm old enough to remember seeing these original shows. But imagine not being able to see them for 30+ years, and then suddenly, here they all are again, to watch as much as I want! Thank God for KZbin and all the posters. (But I wish I could get a DVD with all these old shows.)

Me Too!! Flip had one of the first variety shows for a full hour hosted by a black man....and then had the hottest group of black brothers on the planet!! Every time they were on TV back in the 70s I was watching them. Loved me some Jackson Five........
@sarithawashington13748 жыл бұрын
They play too much lol. They joke with eachother and never miss a beat and YOU never notice lol. Jackie knew Mike was gonna startle Jermaine lol. Pay attention starting at 1:52; Jackie and Mike start smiling simultaneosly knowing what's going to happen...Jackie looks around at the other brothers to see if they are paying attention to eachother, Jackie looks for it to happen @ 2:13 but Mike doesn't do it until @2:33. Notice Jermaine is startled, Jackie smiles it off and Mike laughs while finishing the song. If you wanna catch them in the act Again, watch their performance on Soul Train during Jermaine's song "That's How Love Goes". During the breakdown, Michael does his Own funky steps and Jackie indiscreetly nodds to Marlon to look over at Mike, Marlon indiscreetly looks behind Jackie's back over at Michael, Michael is zoned out doing his Own thing but falls back into step to finish the song. They have even fought during performance (Michael slapped Marlon while making faces at eachother, Michael shoved Randy during the performance of ABC on the 30th Anniversary special; they were HILARIOUS but on Point!) GO WATCH!

Very typical in black groups to be innovative & do improvisational bits on stage! Especially those of us who sing in gospel groups...& surely those who as professionals.... break up the monotony of singing the same songs constantly! Love this performance! GREAT!

I CANNOT believe I am just now witnessing this! I am dying. Jermain lifted one leg up he was so startled!

JazmineJermany I'm trying to find a live performance they did at a club (as The Jacksons) when Michael starts with Tito, he goes up to him during their performance and he makes Tito laugh, then Michael goes up to each brother and does something silly but they never break the performance. Go watch the video of "Enjoy Yourself" when they all where white suits. Jackie f's up the beginning of the performance & they all laugh it off. They were great lol

Yelp. I did to. It was a great; and the Jackson brothers was so natural in front of the camera with all the comedy routines they did with Flip Wilson. Such great memories watching his show every week.

I love watching this video over and over again. Especially Marlon's spin moves at the beginning of the song, the choreography (they make it look so easy), the harmonies, and the way MJ jumped in Jermaine's face at the end was so funny. I probably wasn't born when this was performed, but I would have loved to go see them perform because if you wanted to see a real show, *vualah* this is it.
@oskartgrouch8757 Жыл бұрын
****the way MJ jumped in Jermaine's face at the end was so funny. Glad that you mentioned this because I never noticed it before. It is very funny, and you can see Michael kind of grinning to himself about it.
@sunrisesunset5115 жыл бұрын
Yup... Jackie and Mike were better natural dancers, but Marlon worked the hardest and he turned into a damn good dancer!

Mike's so good people think he's lip-syncing. No tot can be that good! Haha. This version is completely different from the recorded version. People need to educate themselves before talking shit.

Mike is DEFINITELY not lip synching this song. The backgrounds might be synched but NOT this lead. The J5 did do some lip synch performances, but ALOT of their gigs were live, cuz often you'd see mike grab the microphone and you'd hear the static when he did it. Plus, this version is totally different than the recorded one....

It was a wonderful time being raised as a child in the 60's and 70's. Black entertainers were developing their own style and brand of music. Motown's influence brought "our" music to main stream America and World Wide. It was very exciting to see groups like The Temps, The Dells, The Four Tops, and of course The Jackson 5. Their signiture was their "harmonizing" and "dance moves" that made them stand above the rest. And Micheal said it "he really did learn from the best in the business."

What show that was. As a child I watched this show that night it aired . Me and my brothers and little sister was so excited to see the Jackson 5ive. Back in the early 70's it seem like the J5 was on just about all of the variety shows and boy did we have such fun watching them. They was such great performers. That time was so magic to be a kid.

I know!!! I was born in '93 and I feel like I missed out on a lot. music from the 70's is what I call awesome music!! I don't know why they call some of the stuff that comes out today music lol. and anything and everything Michael Jackson is amazing. I wish I was born so I could experience more of him in his prime :(

This comment was 11 years ago, I was just a dumb little kid.🤣 The obvious answer is Marlon was going through puberty and had a growth spurt. Which made him taller than Michael (temporarily).
