Upgraded from iPad Air 3rd gen and I am glad I waited for so long. I am really loving this piece of incredible tech. More layers for me, great responsiveness, sweet huge screen, awesome pencil pro where I can draw with so much ease. What is important to me is I don’t need to get use to some annoying limitation I face from my previous iPad. And, it can multitask so well. Not really on the gaming side but I love consuming entertainment media on my new iPad. Anyway, great editing , love the video. 😊

That’s a great upgrade! Definitely worth it for you. You definitely won’t have to worry about layers anymore :)

Well done on the quality of the video. Never utilizing an ipad before and just moving over to mac last year I'm taking quick crash courses on all these tools. I'll just say as someone who built pc's....I sold all of them after I bought the macbook pro m2 max. I'm a recovering PC user. Thanks again!

I’m still on the 10.5 inch pro. I wanted the 11 inch oled pro but were kinda limited on money. I’m curious about the 13 inch air. I’ve been using the pro for so long, I don’t want to leave it.

Apple has a good comparison tool on their website which might help you decide. Tough decision!

What an awesome video! Very informative and honest! Also you’re one of the very few artist that recommends using an 11 inch iPad when it comes to design. I couldn’t agree more! I tried both sizes recently for Procreate and the 11 inch is sooo much easier to use. My hand isn’t on the screen and the portability is a plus as well. 😁

I’ve been using the 13 inch with the nano texture glass for a week now. So far I really like it. Coming from a 12.9 m1 with a paper like. The contrast and blacks are much better on a nano texture than paper like m1. But the pencil drag is better on the paper like. The feel of my m1 glass iPad without the paper like is very different than nano texture. Nano texture is softer with a more subtle drag. And the sound of the pencil on glass is quieter. Right now I am planning on keeping it. But still evaluating. It all comes down to personal preference.

I am currently using 12.9” but i feel like i do need 11 inch but i am concerned a bit if i regret my choice. What do you think of 11 and 13 inch ones?

I've had a i5 surface pro for 6 years, it has served it's purpose for the most part. I'm definitely getting the 1TB 13 inch M4 Ipad. I feel like the 8gb Ram on the surface wasn't enough for type of drawings I did when i started to get to the 30 layer range. I never want to experience lag and crashes like that again. Not to mention, working between Adobe and Affinity 😂 So I'm going all out for 2k while i can finally afford

Why does no one talk about the loss of contrast if you put a paperlike protector on your M4 iPad with regular glass? The loss is much more visible than on the nano glass version.

Feels different but not like paper, which is really what I want people to understand. Its best that you try it in the Apple store or Best Buy if you can

Regarding the 8 gb ram or 16 gb ram, is it worth it 16gb ram if I use procreate dreams..? or 8gb will suffice ?

More ram means you get more layers also depending on you canvas size

Drawing on a iPad is a whole different art, but very fun. Apple has a 14 day return policy, my recommendation would be to try it out and decide if you want to keep it or not

Are your eyes hurt when you draw on ipad m4? I wanted buy 13 inch but i hear that there pwm and eyes can hurt but because i never have oled before idk 😞 Im using now ipad air 4 so there no pwm

Buying expensive iPad for "future proof" is way of wasting the money. Technology changes so quick these days. In the next 2 years, Apple will release M5 or M6 chips that will be lightning faster than M4. God knows, maybe with a scratch and sniff screen too to top it off. Buy it based on what's your "need" and your "budget."

What is the screen like after longer use? I use my ipad Pro 2020 11 inch, which is LCD for work and leisure. Emails, Teams, Excel, Word, movies, TV shows, procreate, and gaming. All combined, like 3 plus hours per day. Does the oled 1000 nits of brightness hurt your eyes??
@graysonsgraphics8 ай бұрын
I don’t find this iPad to be bad on the eyes, but I’m definitely used to the iPhone 15 which has 2000 nits peak brightness. I find myself having to turn the brightness down on my phone pretty often 😂

@@graysonsgraphics Thank you for your reply, i am very interested in the new iPad. I really enjoy iPads and they are my favourite device, i have a MacBook Pro M3 Pro and a Gaming PC with a RTX3070…I use my iPad far more than both even combined. That’s why it matters a lot to me how the screen is on eyes and if its to much for long prolonged usage, especially for say Gaming, Drawing were you sort of stare at the screen with concentration. It’s great to hear that it’s not that bad, i didn’t realise the iPhone was 2k nits haha. I still use an old Samsung s21 lol
@lepublican57488 ай бұрын
I'm sorry, that's just inaccurate. The nano texture while doesn't feel like paper or paperlike screen protectors, it inherently feels different from standard glass. In my opinion, it feels a lot nicer for drawing. Have you even used one before making such bold comment that it feels just like a regular glass? Smh...

I have the nano texture too and it is indeed very smooth and soft. The normal glass surface adds more resistance. I love the nano texture glass. No more annoying reflections and looking in a black mirror anymore.
@will_0_w8 ай бұрын
Yeah I was going to say this, most professional grade tablets (wacom, huion xp pen) have etched glass for the primary purpose of changing the feel, “glass is glass” is a very silly way of looking at it. I went and A/B tested in the apple store and there was a considerable amount more control on the nano textured ipad, I might not go as far as saying its the same as paperlike, it felt more like the texture a wacom intuos has, sort of soft without the toothy feeling that paperlike has. I’d go as far as saying I prefer it to paperlike I think it’s pretty dumb to just make the baseless claim it feels the same, thats just lying, I’d say theres room for subjectivity here and whether it’s preferable to a screen protector, but lets not pretend a textured glass surface feels the same as a glossy one. We have decades of products proving the contrary
@lovebombLanae7 ай бұрын
Drawing on them .. they do feel very similar. I think it’s reviewers who want to suck up to apple saying otherwise. It also really alters the screen quality! But it most certainly does reduce reflections

I went to my local Apple Store and the experience was ghetto. It made me NOT buy the iPad Pro. The pencil was horribly used - so I wasn’t able to get a good idea of how it would be to draw on it. Guess I should just order one and return it if it doesn’t work out.
@jovanilic8712Ай бұрын
I've had multiple Wacom tablets, Galaxy tab s7fe and S8+, iPad pro M1 and now M4. Just get the iPad pro with the apple pencil. It's simply the best device for art at least.
