Q&A: Why Commander difficulty? Two reasons. First, I always intended this series to be a reference for newer players to learn from, and Legend is both a completely different beast and also not really for newer players. There are plenty of Legend guides for people who want to learn Legend. And the second is just that I've spent most of my time with Commander, so I'm more comfortable talking about it. What's next? Honestly? Probably a little break. This series was in the works for months before I released the first videos, and I kind of want some time to play some casual games and come up with some new ideas. I do have ONE idea for a video, and I'm collecting clips for it, so we'll see how that goes. You savescummed, didn't you? I'm not going to lie to you and pretend I'm some sort of God Gamer. Yes, some savescumming was involved. The vast majority of missions (>80%) were one-and-done recordings, some of them I re-recorded because I just felt they were sloppy or boring to watch, and a handful of them were ones I specifically had to re-do because I played bad (M27). I realized towards the end that if I wanted this to be informative then I should've left the deaths in to show how to cope with soldier losses, but I was committed to "the ideal run" at that point. Why didn't you use a Psi Op in the last mission? I've never been that excited by Psi Ops. They're good units, but I get much more enjoyment out of the more traditional classes. When it came time to set up the final squad, I just couldn't justify dropping any of the six I'd chosen just to bring a Psi Op. Why didn't you fight the Alien Rulers? Like many people, I don't enjoy fighting them, and I definitely don't like the look of the armors you unlock. It also involves a completely different playstyle than what I'm used to. I'd rather just ignore them and stick to the base game. You should've taken Death From Above and Serial on your Sharpshooter. Yes, I know. I kind of rushed through the Training Center and didn't go back to double-check my options and leftover AP. I'm always paranoid about leaving empty stretches in videos and the few I've had to edit out were a pain. Do you recommend SPARKs, even without mods? I think if you like them then you can make them work. I totally get that a fully-specced soldier is going to be better than a SPARK, but I just like their abilities and appearance. Will you do a mod series? I don't really play with a lot of game-changing mods even casually. I'm usually just looking for "XCOM 2 Plus" with my mods, so things that add unintrusive character customization options, more map types, subtle re-tweaks to existing items (Better Repeater), etc. If people want to see that stuff (for some reason), then sure, maybe. Will you do XCOM Enemy Within videos? Maybe? It's a pretty old game now and people aren't really looking for advice as much, but I always enjoy going back to play it. I also know a bit more about Impossible difficulty now compared to Legend. Why do you use TTS? I don't want to record my own voice and have it public on the Internet, and I don't want to get someone else to narrate my boring scripts. I've watched videos with TTS in the past (A Garbage Guide to DMC5 - Swordmaster) and found it entertaining enough. I will say that tweaking the TTS to not be grating on the ears is really hard though! What other XCOM-likes do you recommend? Gears Tactics is actually surprisingly good, it just doesn't have much of a strategic layer. Then I love the atmosphere of Hard West, although the game is a bit rough around the edges. And finally, I thought Mutant Year Zero was good, but it has almost zero replay value. Where did ADVENT hide all the Superior Scopes? I don't know. They were probably all piled underneath the statue in Gatecrasher and we unknowingly cursed ourselves by blowing it up. What happened to Bruno? I think he eventually got employed by FedEx and finally got the promotion he was always looking for. :- Thanks for watching and commenting. I'm glad you got some enjoyment out of this dumb little series. 🙇

after your break I think a good idea is an xcom 2/ew multiplayer guide if you can organize it as a side project to do on your own time

Thank you for making this series. It's definitely made me a better player than I was. The thoughts behind certain moves were very helpful for my knowledge development. Hope to see other interesting projects you may have.

I liked this Playthrough-series thing. Guides are more concise and have more information per second ratio, but still interesting

I think the production quality was better in this series, but the original guides had better structure and information.

The in-game date is December 25, 2035. MERRY XCOM, ELDERS! HO HO HO, YOU'VE BEEN VERY NAUGHTY! Everyone in the cities loved ADVENT a lot But the Grinchy Commander of XCOM did not Those rebels hate ADVENT, they're ungrateful heathens Now please don't ask why; no one quite knows the reason It could be, perhaps, the abductions and murders It could be they don't like those damn juicy burgers But I think that the most likely reason of all: The Commander is Asaru's mind-controlled thrall
