From a personal perspective, what makes your videos so damn enjoyable is that you grunt and groan, sling profanities at stupid designs. Coupled with a perfect mix of times lapse and real time clips of things, you absolutely hit the nail on the head. Oh, and your fastidious attention to detail. I appreciate that all of your videos take a hell of a long time to not only do and film, but edit too, but I could very happily watch a video from you every day. Lastly, whoever thought they could sell that first engine as only having 11K on it needs to give their head a wobble. Anyone with only the slightest idea of mechanical knowledge would know it was nowhere near that, shocking.

I agree with the words of the previous speaker and would like to add that from my point of view, the community of BMW fans who bravely hold the bar is getting smaller and smaller. And who can blame them? If you want a BMW from the Reitzle era or by the F10/11 at the latest, then it is slowly becoming really difficult to find something adequate without having to pledge the house and yard, just to resolve the maintenance jam. And so this small community of real fans will probably always remain manageable, completely regardless of his entertainment talents, which Sreten gives to the best here. On the one hand, this is a pity because it deprives him of a goal of his deserved success. On the other hand... you don't know how annoying sponsors and fans would be. I think he will put an incredible amount of effort into his channel, without us viewers even having a hint of an idea about it.

I’ve been following your channel for some time now despite being an Italian car fan having owned a stable of over 15 Alfas Yes you can laugh out loud 😂 For me this is the most informative & inspiring YT video I’ve ever seen. Here in the UK there are around 30 very cheap Quattroporte’s for sale on the classifieds that are so tempting & pulling at heartstrings of Italian car freaks like myself who will most likely loose everything & have their livelihoods destroyed if they bite the bullet on one of these.😢 They are so tempting, sound absolutely amazing & are drop dead gorgeous it’s easy to see why so many like myself can fall into this trap. Now this car appears to be sorted I’d love to see another video explaining the main differences between BMW & Maseratis approach as to why these engines appear to be destined to self destruct & uneconomical to repair at around this sort of mileage. The design of the oil pump pretty much sums up a major failing to begin with but it would be interesting to go deeper down the rabbit hole & explain in depth to us viewers who are still tempted to take the plunge. Wishing you all the very best & keep the projects coming & channel alive 👍

Try fixing something with a Busso engine to cleanse your palate of modern Italian engineering. And it sadly is all Italian. As much as I despise Stellantis crap, this has nothing to do with them, this was all OG Maserati in the early 2010s.

I think we will never see an Alfa Romeo in this channel, sadly.

I am impressed by your motivation, and after you were told once that everything is ok, you decided to do a full check of a healthy engine. super!

As kids we grow up loving Ferrrari’s. As adults we end up loving Lamborghini. Ferucio was right about them 60 years ago. I still dont know how they can build such a cheese engine for a supercar.

Great job!!! Glad you managed to find an engine. Lower view count could be from summer- vacation season, so don't let that ruin your great mood for awesome content Sreten!!! Keep it up 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🏋🏻🏋🏻🏋🏻

Oh man, you got scammed on that engine. Low mileage? yeah right...seems like an engine which was thoroughly abused! It's sad that few people and companies nowadays are serious in the business. They just want your money and sell you crap...

Thankyou Streten, due to your sacrifice i won't be tempted to suffer the crippling financial pain of Maserati ownership...thankyou sir.

Please name and shame the company who lied to you about the engine being low mileage and good condition. Otherwise others risk falling foul of the same tricks.

It still doesn't track that they deemed it good enough to use such low quality rotating and consumable parts on such an expensive, highly strung engine. Why cast stuff at all? And why such a weird oil pump? Most importantly, when S85/65 had bearing failure, it was due to clearance and oil viscosity issues, not cheap parts. Same with the oil pumps. It's like Stellantis gets the basics wrong intentionally.

wdym. it's a car from a company not made to last formed from companies not made to last which all made cars not made to last what's so hard to get about it :D but you know lanciatitis, peugeotitits, fiatitrauma, dodgesilitis and alfatitis combined make for one powerful selling tool still, you know you shouldn't mess with it but you'd still want to.
@flavioc53892 ай бұрын
The S85/S65 had bearing failure with 80k-100k KMs because of an inherently design flaw. The Maserati engine was still going strong at 300k KM.
@summushieremiasclarkson47002 ай бұрын
@@flavioc5389 Quite so. I will consider a design flaw that fails predictably to be better than a compromised design that fails unpredictably at any mileage due to poor engineering. That said, there is no indication that the 300k km on this engine is common, or even original. Any car will survive 300k of highway driving. The sad thing is, Maserati can make good engines. Great engines, even, if history is any indication. Stellantis accountants on the other hand...

You are an amazing guy and I hope this time the engine is going to last. I am impressed you persisted and did not give up on this car. The sound of the engine is sublime!

LOL armchair mechanics claiming that liqui moly 5w-40 is so different from Shell 5w-40 it is fundamentally incompatible with a cast-iron block and would cause catastrophic engine failure.
@lasskinn4742 ай бұрын
what engine could you use liqui moly in if it was so? like if you couldn't use it because of that then what engine could you use it in? that's crazytalk. they'd need to have some sort of very tiny list of engines you could use liqui moly in if it did something magical cast iron surfaces or surfaces machined in cast iron.
