What’s everyone’s opinions on these new style bridges that look rusty when installed ?
@watcherzero5256Ай бұрын
Corten steel? For what it does (natural weather resistance that doesn't require a protective layer of paint) I think its reasonably attractive. I am not a fan of it in an urban setting (for example I have seen modernist homes clad in it on streets containing traditional suburban housing) but for industrial structures I think it looks quite good.

Nah not for me! Want to give it a good coating of Hammerite paint!

I was a driver stuck in traffic on the 21 Sept being diverted. It was sad to see drivers not feeding in and forcing their way in at the only live lane. Some drivers just have no manners now on the roads in the UK. Great video and nice capture.

A useful record of the two weekends; amazing how, with proper planning, major infrastructure changes can be implemented quickly. Thanks for the video.
@DizzyDooDarАй бұрын
It's impressive how they did all this over the course of two weekends. Great drone footage too.

Good to see sub standard structures getting replaced with better modern design ✌️❤️🇬🇧

Brilliantly uplifting, well-filmed, most captured video mate.... especially of the demolition of the old concrete bridge carrying the railway line across the motorway out there... 10 out of 10 by the way, I myself have had the privilege in occasionally passing under the now demolished, let alone replaced railway bridge whenever my mum and I myself travel along the motorway that passes beneath railway line that crosses over said motorway, at castleton, let's hope this'll all be accomplished by the end of september, Speaking of castleton, which I believe is in grater manchester.... not only does it have a raiway station of it's own, but also has a railway line toward heywood of whom the east lancashire railway too.

Thank goodness they got this job done quickly. Shutting the M62 to traffic caused chaos. Shutting the railway as well caused double chaos! Though thankfully not for too long. Lets hope that new bridge puts in a good long service life!
@mikehindson-evans159Ай бұрын
Designed for 120 years before major servicing would be needed - like the basic design principles for all the HS2 structures.

I do hope they put the spur back into ELR, must have been removed for safety reasons, good video cheers .

It says something about modern engineering that the original 1960's bridge weighed 2,000 tonnes but the replacement only weighs 350 tonnes.

I wonder if they’ll reinstate the points just after the bridge that lead to the east lancs railway

When did they sever that link to the ELR just after the bridge? Still shown as connected on google maps.

Pity the original bridge hasn't lasted as long as the Victorian bridge over the canal a short distance down the track?

I wonder if they cleaned off the graffiti on the right abutment. Looked fairly new.

Surely the sound of jack hammers and revving engines would have been preferable to the repetitive, moronic so called music! Those doing the actual job didn't need a trio of talentless musicians sat on the motorway making their noise so why would the viewer need it?
@simonrobertrhodesАй бұрын
@@poppasmurf the drone doesn’t record audio. I agree the sound of machines would be better but finding that soundtrack on iMovie isn’t possible
@oddities-whatnotАй бұрын
Why is music on this video ? Im asking because a lot of successful channels don’t have any music at all. For me it adds nothing to 99% of videos, it isn’t needed. The subject, camera work and commentary are the important parts on KZbin.
@simonrobertrhodesАй бұрын
its mainly drone footage so it would be silent without the music. i just feel that something playing is better than silence. On my other videos i do more narrating.
@kaimanawastudiosАй бұрын
In my opinion if you choose the right music and implement it correctly it adds a lot of value.
@lawnmowerdudeАй бұрын
Do you know what drone videos sound like? I’ll give you a hint, it involves 4 tiny propellers spinning at 10k rpm.
@simonpaine2347Ай бұрын
It never ceases to amaze me how many 'supervisors' there are, just standing around chatting and watching while a fraction of the amount of others are actually doing the work. It's no wonder why these projects are nearly always late and over budget. £20m. £15 for planning, consulting, supervision etc £4m for machinery, materials etc and less than £1m for actual workers.
@StillgotallmyfingersАй бұрын
Well chosen music can make a film flow really nicely, especially if the footage cannot carry live sound Music only fails if it’s edited badly, poorly chosen and jarrs the audience Wonderful film, thank you
