As a runner in my late 40’s this is really cool to see and gives me hope I’ll see another 25 years out there.

The world record for the marathon at 74 years is, like, 2:54 or something. Some people just know how to stay in superb shape.

@@Marksmith2-qu6tl... I wonder if 800 meters on a treadmill = 800 meters on a 1/4 mile track. I would think that 800 meters on a 1/4 mile track is measured right against the curb; nobody does (or is able to) run "right against the curb," so I wonder how far a person REALLY runs when he runs "800 meters" ... on a track??? I would think when professional runners run the mile on a track, some of them may actually run 30 yards "MORE" than a mile, taking into account those running wide and jockeying for position. So, say someone runs 3:57 for the mile, but is one of those that may have run 30 yards more than necessary; that means he ACTUALLY ran somewhere under 3:54. That's why the "STRAIGHT-AWAY" mile (ran on a street) can be run soooooooo much faster than the world record ... set on a 1/4 mile track; on the "STRAIGHT-AWAY" mile they're running EXACTLY 1 mile!!

Pretty good time ... 5 min. mile pace; it's amazing that he was able to spruce it up to run "69" on that 2nd lap; my hat goes off to him!! ❤️

Awesome running at 70 years old
@user-cx4ll4rj1t2 ай бұрын
70 to 74 years old....... 100% agreed it's incredible. Could run sub 1:50 in my late 30s but at 60 it takes me a good 5mins to cover 1km and I guess I would struggle, and I am not sure I could, to run 4:00 for 800m without pulling a muscle. [fat and old isn't a good combination I must admit, but still]

@@user-cx4ll4rj1t At 18 I was actually a sprinter but my coach would throw me in anything. I won the high school region with a time of 2.00 . I lagged behind in last place on the first lap and used my speed on the second lap for the win. Imagine if I would have really ran the first lap. Also my Coach ran 1.50 in college.
