M8 3.0 firmware adds a new instrument type called HYPERSYN which gives you easy control of 6 voice chords and inversions.

This was a great deep dive into the chord feature. I wasn't going to at first, but then I restarted the video and did everything you did and I learned so much. Is TIC01 or TIC06 on the last line a convention? Since the HOPs come before the TIC, logic would imply that it never reaches the TIC instruction, but perhaps it knows to look for a TIC from the last line as soon as playback starts?

So when you play a note in a sequencer it acts as a root note and all the added voices are shifted to number of semitones specified in hypersynth settings? What should I do if I want to play a completely different chord from the one set up? E.g. a sus4 - should I create another instrument with hypersynth and set up another chord? Or can I achieve i with FX?

I am somewhat surprised my architecture here. While its awesome that this synth does not eat up track voices, its not easily swappable with a midi instrument to play the same chords - you’ll have to redo everything using chord or add fx :(

@@LostStylus yeah you can make a chord table for the midi instrument with the same chords fairly easily though.

great tutorial... i am now in phase of trying convince myself i don't need M8 because i have ipad/iphone for mobile musicmaking, but this tutorial doesn't helping to that purpose at all LOL - actually exact opposite ... this M8 is really SUPER DEEP super powerful device ..

Also, there is a huge market potential if someone makes a really good tracker for iOs... now there are only a few and they are dated and some look fairly chaotic. I got an og m8 today, so I don't need it any longer, but it's been baffling me for some time that no one has capitalized or even tried to on the tracker idea on iOs.

There's a few different ways to do chords, hypersyn is a new way. Check out my previous chord video to see the old methods

@@impbox thanks I like the way how you do chords in hypersyn compared to the other method you showed. Wasn't sure my M8 hasn't arrived if you could do the chord feature south in this video for example in the FM synth. Just wait for my brain to understand
