Hey guys took out this beautiful bonneville salt pearl 2018 Road Glide Special for a full ride Review and break down, also added in some small tips of things you may not know about on the Harley touring line. Wireless headset interface modules out! White road glide finally! Loving it. 107 cubic inch motor. Stretched bags and blacked out. 18 inch wheel on the back, 19 on the front. Road Glide seat height, road Glide weight and more! (Also misspoke in the video about new vent Harley released in 14 for buffeting, they also added it to road glide in 15) no 14 Fltrx guys ;)

Hell.....alot of people don't know about that button because the sales people don't know and nobody reads the owners manual. It is really sad how most sales staff know little about the bikes they are selling let alone ever show the buyer. Have you ever stood back and watched the hurry up that goes on after the customer is done signing?? "Well congrats shake shake BYE!! The few that know the machine they are selling and actually take the time during the delivery are usually on the top of the leader board consistently... Thanks for taking the time of making these excellent videos. I would buy from you if you were not so far away.

At first I preferred the look of the road glide, and I liked that you didn't see them as often as street glides. Looking at them in person though, I likes the gauge layout better on the street glide, but having the glove boxes would be cool. I'm a taller rider as well, so that's what led me to your videos.

I understood from several reviews the road glide has better handling because it has less weight on the handlebars... But that look of the turning fairing on the street glide... for me is majestic af!
@fastjax
@fastjax 6 жыл бұрын
yes, removing that 75 pounds or so from the handlebars makes a huge difference but street glide are just as fun to ride and are great looking motorcycles, and you can carve some corners on it as well!

Fast-Action Jax ive always disliked harleys (always was a sports bike guy) and yet ive been drooling over them in the past few months. Harley really improved their game in recent years and I feel they now have the quality for those prices. And in a world of ever more green responsible machines, they do make all the right noises and smells.

D LAT69 I agree, they can be a bit intimidating. I was so nervous when I first really started taking out the baggers. You learn pretty quick that 2 wheels is 2 wheels and get comfortable on them. I personally think the road glide handles much better without having the fairing weight. Take one out!

@fastjax
@fastjax 6 жыл бұрын
The pirellis on my bike are fantastic tires for grip and did really well in wet conditions and in corners but I'm already having to replace them with just 7000 miles or so on them, That being said I do ride pretty aggressively so the quick wear could be entirely from that. Im about the put some Avon storms on my bike and try them, they are supposed to be comparable and have 15,ooo mile warranty

@fastjax
@fastjax 6 жыл бұрын
jim jim I honestly think you'd probably be a better fit on a road glide, but they make an extended reach seat for the heritage and you could get floor boards extensions for either model. But if you test ride both of them side by side you'll probably lean toward the road glide. That's a tough choice really, you'll have to take them out

Thanks for the response, Fast-Action. Yes - I demo-ed that seat (Hammock) at my Harley dealer but found it to be too wide; I slid around. I went with the Sundowner, which lowered my center of gravity. Now if I could just find the seat that lowers the C of G and adds that additional padding I'd be all set. Don't want to add a pad because that defeats the purpose of lowering the Center of Gravity. Looks like I'm stuck. Thanks.

Hey Jax, I am one of those disgruntled 2016 Harley Davidson owners . Purchased mine 2 months before the M8 came out. Wasn’t expecting the change and it was never mentioned. I do love my bike, just don’t know if I’m comfortable knowing with the changes that were made if I’m really missing out. The displacement of the cat can be upgraded to an entire new exhaust but what about the dual vs single cam, clutch etc.. what’s your honest opinion , should I take the beaten on upgrading to an 18 or stick with the 16 ? My bike has 6000 miles on it , I owe 20 and they tell me it’s worth 1450. I’m blown away with the depreciation what’s your thoughts Jax?
@fastjax
@fastjax 6 жыл бұрын
I really like the M8 motor, its smooth powerful and definitely a performer. do I think the M8 is better than the twin cam, yes I do. but it was designed to be better. do I think it'd be worth taken a little loss to get one. I dont know, I think that would be up to you my friend. I dont know your situation but if you could comfortably do it then why not, I would sacrifice to get one, they are both great motors and if you wanted a little more power you could build your motor a little and save some cheddar. I've been in your position a bunch and just decided to keep my sporty instead of taking a loss and getting a higher payment. I'd suggest to go ride one if you haven't and evaluate your situation to see if its worth it to you. At the end of the day you have a very nice motorcycle already.

Hi Jax I enjoy your reviews a lot and please keep on reviewing! A quick question please bud, I’m only 5.2 and been riding softails all my life. Rode a King without a windshield once but I went back to my softail. And now my heart is set on this white RG. Would it be too big of a bike for me? I hope they do come with lower seats and shocks though. And I wouldn’t mind the harder ride. My line of sight would probably sits on where you helmet cam is set (it’s in front of your chin isn’t it?), so I might get better view on the road compared to an SG. Thanks buddy for replying. Best wishes!
@fastjax
@fastjax 6 жыл бұрын
I've seen a bunch of people buy and ride Road Glides and Street Glides at you Height, the Road Glide seat height in actually a little lower than the SG's so that'll help a little but they do make reduced reach seats and lower shocks for them as well, A coworker here who is the same height as you are put air ride in the rear of his SG so he just airs down when cruising and airs up on the highway so that is an option too. But their are plenty of options out there to make sure you get fitted properly to the bike you like, if the White Road Glide speaks to you my friend then make it happen. I sold a RGU to a guy who was 5'3" and put burly brand slammers on the back and he loves it. so you have options! hope that helped! and yes my camera sits right on my chin

what? if your saying you cant lean a RGS hard in a turn because of the crash bar you are VERY wrong my friend. not only am I very capable rider who's willing to lean a road glide far lower than most, I watched pro sport bike riders that are far better riders than I lean them a lot further and rarley ever scrape crash bars on the track! so not too many ordinary riders are going to have that problem.
