You mentioned in the video that you would include the part number for the gasket and the o-rings, but it's not in the description. Any chance you could share that information?

The gasket service kit is: 17396-06 and is like $4.95 retail.

@@jimclabaugh4999 Are you sure that service kit number is correct? I could only find 17369-06 (Not) 17396-06?

I change my primary cover to a Willie G cover and decided to use my original gasket (only had 4k miles) and it would not fit. The gasket was about a half inch too big. Is this normal?

Transmission oil? I'm so lost. Just bout a 2018 Road Glide Ultra, has 3700 miles on it and I want to change the oil. Keep hearing you talk about transmission oil though, guess I need to read the book.

Is there another oil drain underneath the engine sump at the front ??
@raford2503 жыл бұрын
Yes, it’s an Allen plug. This is for the case itself and also will tell you if you have the dreaded sumping issue. 8oz max should come out of that hole.

I've been a Mechanic for 40 years. Honestly you think that the BEST H-D Mechanic is concerned about the paint on the Bottom of your Frame? I'd rate him an Honest "B" (A to F). He did nothing wrong that I noticed. The Solution is Do It Yourself. (That's Why he took the time to do this Video.)

I never did understand why harley designs their cycles to use 3 different oils. Seems more complex than It even needs to be.? How do other manufactures get away with long lasting bikes where they drain 1 plug, and fill with 1 oil ..
@ROADKING886 жыл бұрын
I use SYN 3 in all 3 holes, no problems
@B.D.TRX46 жыл бұрын
Paul Louis I guess I mean why the need for the 3 different locations for oil in the first place, especially if you use the same oil in it anyways
@Rags7225 жыл бұрын
For openers, HD came out with Syn 3 so you can use the same fluid in all 3 holes. I don't, but that is because I don't feel gear SYN 3 does a good job in all 3. As far as why not just dump all your oil in a single hole, take a look at the crap on the 3 magnets. Unless you have a major problem, the engine oil will always be metal free, while the clutch and tranny will have either clutch material or gear snot in the oil. If you like the metric idea of running tranny and primary snot through your engine, have a ball. I don't. 3 different boxes with 3 different purposes. Best design for sure. Oh, and for those that want a tip, do not pull the oil fill plug at first. Check to see that the oil gulps out like it needs a vent. Then pull the oil fill and it will run fine. You just proved your rocker box breathers are working correctly.
