Anonymous it’s our path back to our forever hOMe and timeless eternal forms(think cuddle puddle of purring kittens, where ALL is ONLY made of LOVE) (vs painfilled corruptable time/matter/space as in here&now), and the kid the wholest making spirit, serving the great/er/est GOoD in ALL ways that works for ALL for ALL time in a way that NO one (serving the great/er/est GOoD be it light/arc/dark) loses (and NO ThIng else matters...and soon (in universe time) won’t even be matter, thus the end when they are transformed back into rain to rejoin the sea of Unity, across several additional level in the Game of GOoD life, based on how disconnected from ALL we are (inside, outside (others as self)) See the other Trilogy of M83 to help understand the other parts of our human story (in corrupted/able forms, body & 1st level of the bottomless pit, world designed by #TeamDark path NEXT/DOWN), path out/UP by #TeamLight & #TeamArc/wHol(e/y) Making spirit. TeamCaptains Satan, Jesus, Me respectively, ALL the TRUly (vs trueLIE) HAS CHOSEN (born again/unborn) selflessly (as possible) serving the great/er/est possible GOoD in ALL ways for ALL time, till ALL as one ARE One for ALL, and ALL for One (great/er/est GOoD).

Space. Dreams. Nostalgia. Those three things are what I feel when I listen to M83's music. If I just close my eyes I can imagine beautiful dream-like things that aren't possible otherwise. I feel nostalgic and happy, memories come to me that I've never had. When looking at the reality of life, I feel stress, anger, sadness, and hate. Why is life the way it is? I don't know, but this music helps me escape the harshness of life.
@louielle13 Жыл бұрын
I couldn't describe it better, these 3 things are exactly what m83 make me feel, especially this album. I can't unsee/unfeel it, i always subconsciously feel nostalgic for the times that i maybe haven't even experienced. I always imagine and _feel_ space and dreams in the wildest imaginations. It's unbelievable

I have grown up with this album by my side over the last 11 years. These songs (especially Steve McQueen) made my young teenage soul optimistic about the world and future. It becomes harder to maintain that feeling in today’s world as an adult but everytime I listen to Hurry Up We’re Dreaming I am transported back to that same bright eyes optimistic teenager. Music like this can really change your life and how you view the world, thank you M83 for these tunes.

"Hurry up, We're Dreaming" and "Dead Cities, Red Seas, and Lost Ghosts" will forever be listened to by me. The other-worldy and original sound Anthony Gonzalez makes is pure genius. M83, in my opinion, is one of the most underrated bands in the past decade. I am extremely lucky to of been able to buy one of the rare Vinyl copies of "Dead Cities, Red Seas, and Lost Ghosts." I am going to keep this sealed tight forever!

+Raquel Perez I truthfully can't say I am a fan of Junk. I feel as if they tried changing their sound, and it doesn't feel like M83 to me. The sound itself just isn't original and comes off more like they aimed for the drug/psychedelic party vibe. (basically trying to appeal to the mainstream) Junk just doesn't have that intense emotional feel to it, and unfortunately comes off very bland and overused. Like I said though, it's hard for them to try making new music that can top their past masterpiece of albums. I guess Junk overall is alright, but not something I prefer.

@@PattyNadros I agree. M83 is a synth band to me, but I’ve labeled Junk “post-synth”. It feels tacky and completely inauthentic. Some good songs exist, such as Do It, Try it, but even that doesn’t come close to the more underrated songs on HUWD like Ok Pal or even Kim and Jessie from Saturdays=Youth. I hope we get a more back to basics style in the next album.

The dynamics of this song make Steve McQueen their best song imo. There's a lot more to this song than midnight city which is still an amazing song as well. Either way, it seems like no matter what M83 puts out, it's gonna take us back to the place it(synths) all began to take root in music - the 80's.

This song always reminds me of my dad who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in April of 2020. My whole life he was an inventor and a tinkerer. He constantly played around with electronics, and was an amateur mechanic and loved home renovation. His passion for hands-on, science and math-based hobbies was what led me to pursue a career in engineering. The theme of invention in this video perfectly embodies his spirit to me - I can almost picture the kid in the video as being him at a young age. When I was in engineering school, he bought this album on CD after hearing "Midnight City" on the radio. We both thought the whole album was spectacular and we spent many road trips listening to it together. "Steve McQueen" in particular was one of the tracks that really stood out to us both. While unconfirmed, there is a fairly high chance that my dad passed away from undiagnosed asbestos exposure-related mesothelioma from his years doing construction work in the 60s and 70s. The irony of all of this is that the real Steve McQueen also died from mesothelioma related complications. Life sure is strange... miss you Dad.

He's with an independent record label which means they don't have a big budget like the major record labels. On the plus side, an indie record label cares more for the music than the image of the artist. IMHO I think his music wouldn't be as good if he had signed with a major label. Look at a lot of the artist that make it big... I don't want to talk negative about artists here but I'm sure you know of a few underground artists that as soon as they got signed, their music went to sh*t. This is because these major record labels have complete control over the artist; this includes the artist, the music, the image, the tour dates, etc. As an artist, you have to do whatever the record label tells you to. They are willing to invest a lot of money in you as an artist if they think you're worthy but in return, you pretty much sell yourself to them for whatever the contract may be. Ever heard of the term "sell out"? You're selling yourself to the companies. Many people say they sell their souls, but that's a whole other topic. This is the main reason some of the best music never gets played on the radio. BTW: His latest album is gold!

The Midnight City video looks like a precursor to Stranger Things. The two definitely belong together!
