G.Marimuthu is an Indian film director and actor. After making his debut as a director with Kannum Kannum (2008), he has gone on to make other ventures including Pulivaal (2014) and feature in supporting roles as an actor.
In 1990, G. Marimuthu headed to Chennai wanting to be a film director. After initially working as a waiter in hotels, he became acquainted with lyricist Vairamuthu. After working as an assistant director with Rajkiran for his films Aranmanai Kili (1993) and Ellame En Rasathan (1995) Marimuthu had the oppertunity to work with film makers including Mani Ratnam, Vasanth, Seeman and S. J. Surya, before working as a co-director in Silambarasan's team, Manmadhan (2004) G. Marimuthu made his directorial debut with Kannum Kannum (2008), a romantic film starring Prasanna and Udhayathara which won critical acclaim.
In the 2010s, he prioritised his acting career and featured in supporting roles in Tamil films. Mysskin introduced him as an actor in Yuddham Sei (2011), where he played a corrupt police officer. The success of the film prompted him to star in films including Aarohanam (2012), Nimirndhu Nil (2014) and Komban (2015), often featuring as police officer. His performance in Marudhu (2016) prompted Vishal to sign him on to feature in Kaththi Sandai (2016).After compleating more than 100 films as an actor Marimuthu entered in to small screen and his maiden venture Ethir Neechal has become a huge hit

Raja (King) sir is music king. Mr. Marimuthu rightly said that Raja sir has composed 900 movies in 25 years where as ARR can not even touch 200 in the same period. This record can not be broken in any foreseeing future. I do not think that there is a single person in the industry in any field has similar caliber like him. Raja sir is beyond comprehension. Directors like ManiRatnam and others could have patched with Raja sir which could have benefited fan like us. Imagine Ponniyin Selvan composed by Raja sir. His Music could have given much different dimension to that Movie. You could have seen the treatment of Raja sir music in historic flim recently in Telgu (Rama Rajayam). Still people talk about Nayagan and Raja sir has equal credit to success of the movies. Everyone celebrates Manirathnam movies before 1991 (Roja is probably exception).

I think there is something wrong in the timelines he narrated about ARR. Kizhakku Cheemaiyile was released in 1993 ( deepavali). He got married almost a year or so later. Vandemataram was released in mid 1997 ( 50th year independence). Same confusion I noticed in the previous episode when he described about the Roja incident with Raj kiran.
