I enjoy the background on the franchise, and the background on its creation and path through time, but what I really want and can’t find much of online is the lore of the different sides and factions. Is every kit specific to a certain side? Can the mk44 be used by either side? Is the lunadiver only for a specific side? How about the falke ? I build and paint these things but I like to be lore accurate so I need all the info I can get. Love your channel and your Reverence for the hobby in general. Keep it up

as a rule of thumb the suits with german names are strahl, except the nutrocker which is also strahl. but i imagine suits would be captured and reused by either side much like captured tanks in real conflicts!

The detail of this plastic kit is outstanding, once built it actually looks as if its been an impossible build with those cables and clear len's but everything comes together easily (it did for me) and the decals, the Ma.k decals are the best on the market its just a shame you can't buy them separate and if you could, they wouldn't be cheap

Super stuff Linc! Thanks for the background information and sparking the Ma.K. fire back into me. I've been in and out of model building since the mid-1960's. I was living in Germany back in the 1980's when the Ma.K. stuff first started hitting the hobby shops. As a WWII armor modeller, I really liked the futuristic take that Ma.K. was bringing to the hobby. I still have a few of those original NITTO kits in my stash. I think I'll dust them off and give them a go! Horrido! (German version of "Tally-Ho!")

I’ve been thinking about dipping my toe into Ma.K. since I heard you on the Plastic Posse Podcast, and found this kit when I was looking around eBay. It looks like a nice kit. The paint colours almost look like a late war German tri-colour scheme. Would it be acceptable in the Ma.K. universe to adapt this slightly into a German hinterhalt (ambush) pattern used in the second half of 1944? (Can you tell I’m normally an armour guy?)
@PaintonPlasticbyLincolnWright3 жыл бұрын
Hello Bruce, welcome. Yes, I am also an armour guy and an airplane guy but let's keep that a secret between us! Yes, Ma.K looks very good in both AFV and AIR patterns from all sides of WWII, slightly adapted of course and we usually don't keep the full insignia. Unit markings or nose art seems to travel well but nationality or forces markings seem a little out of place. Yes, your paint collection will look right at home, have fun!

Great content! Keep it up Linc! Couple of words: I'm in the middle of building this kit now, and yes, it is an absolute seam fest! But! That's ok because it's just basic model building: file, fill, file, and sand all those seams (and the occasional punch marks... Oh, and the way the parts are attached to the sprues is different...) If you're the kind of model builder who wants to be able to do the minimum required for the build so that you can get right into the painting, well, this kit might disappoint you because you really do need to take your time on the build to get the best result. But ya know, getting back to the basics is a good thing sometimes. In the end this kit is a fun build because, in spite of the seams, everything goes together really well and you've got this huge, very cool creation. And very unique (disregarding it's variants). If you get a chance to purchase a Grosserhund kit

it's pronounced "Groesser Hoond", Großer Hund, in German, ie "Big Dog", so I think you got the pronunciation 95% correct . Interestingly, in German it also means the Canis Major, the star constellation. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gro%C3%9Fer_Hund.
